This article is the best news I have read.I'm a glaucoma patient.
I'm 76 and the treatments (eye drops, combigan and lumbigan )
have been prescribed. I had laser surgery for my glaucoma in
2008 and eye drops. I was using xalatan - but switch to lumbigan.
but will switch back to xalatan as soon as my insurance will cover
it.Xalatan have less side effects.
Now my question is when would ( your thoughts) the nerve growth
factors eye drops be available? I wonder if my doctor is on top of this.
what is your thoughts/suggestion as how to approach this?

My husband was diagnosed with glaucoma in 2007 and in spite of him applying his pressure drops he is loosing his eyesight on his left eye and he is only able to see a little with his right eye... I need help. i am so desperate to help him because he is young and although they say this disease is a consequence of diabetes as well as genetic, well he does not have either. He would benefit by this new drops i imagine.

I have been blinded by PRK I have had a Corneal transplant which has not help with the sight. It has been 8 months since the transplant. When a light is shined into my left eye I can see what appears like sparklers but in low vision. I have I have had a second surgery to inplant a divise to lower pressure and now take drops to help. All I really want is to be able to see again. I would be interested the drops. Some how I can not beleive I will never see again. There has to be help somewhere.

well my father is also suffering from glaucoma and is using the usual eye drops to lower IOP. But I would be interested in these drops as well. I guess that these are only on experimental basis and are not yet commercially available on the market. It might take some years before that actually happens.
