We're All Lying Liars: Why People Tell Lies, and Why White Lies Can Be OK

Lying diminishes self-respect and respect of others. Why should one have to lie? Some lie for gain, some lie to protect themselves, some lie to protect others, in all cases a lie is meant to cover up the truth. Truth and trust are the basis for all good relationships. Deception sets up conflicts in the liars mind and in the minds of those he lies to. This is the basis for mental illness and unhealthy relationships. For thousands of years people have known that lying is wrong. "Thou shalt not bear false witness" Whether you believe this is the word of God or words of wisdom it is at the very least - good advice.

This article is written for the point of view of the moral relativist. The idea that lying can be good comes from the mind of a lost soul. Do not give in to temptation or fear. Walk with God or at least seek truth. Your experience on this planet will be much richer for it.

I am strognly against the opionio of Mr. Robert Feldman.

"We use lies to grease the wheels of social discourse," says University of Massachusets psychologist Robert Feldman. "It's socially useful to tell lies."

Lie can never be useful or suggested.
