My son died one day shy of his second birthday last May, 2009 from pnuemococcal meningitis. He had had pnuemonia 3 times that year, and was often put on cipro. When he was finally diagnosed with meningits, the lab results showed that his white blood cell count was very low. I was searching for any studies on the amount of cases reported in the year 2009. If any one has information please contact me: www.dylanmcneilfoundation.com

As a healthy worker, i totally a gree that meningitis by all means should be treated as an emergency case. it is important as equally as any disease affecting the brain.
But it can be prevented or treated well if propery diagnosed. Whether it is viral or bacterial or any other type, so as to have proper treatment as well as avoiding the development of resistance.
I have developed an interest to study more about meningitis mainly in the investigation of tests which can easy us to simply diagnose and classify the meningitis in addition to the current tests we do.
Being part of the requirement of my masters degree program, i need to write to people like you for more information and support
