Everyone knows teenagers have been having sex since the dawn of time. The only point I wish to make is that if they weren't constantly bombarded with references and images advocating sexual promiscuity, their may not be such a high teen pregnancy and drop-out rate. Of course kids are raging with hormones. That's to be expected. But what a teen needs, at that time in his or her life, is someone to explain the complication, consequences, and responsibilities that come with the ability to be sexually active. All they have are these rap and R n B artists who talk about casual sex, infidelity, and sexual degradation.

Guess what, guys? Teenagers have been having sex for THOUSANDS OF YEARS! Hormones rage and peak for one basic reason alone, the reason for existence in the first place: to procreate. Just because society's views on sex have changed doesn't mean the basic drive (and necessity) have changed as well. I wish people would give this topic a rest!!

While these provoking songs don't MAKE teenagers go out and have sex, it's part of the peer pressure. If your favorite band is saying it's okay to have random sex, and reinforcing that belief in their lyrics, folks everywhere will soon be preaching this message. How? By singing along, quoting lines from a sexual song, etc.
