When I get a migraine I immediately smash my thumb with a hammer, it makes me forget all about my migraine! Serious it works. Takes my thumb about a month to heal though!

i thought i was almost alone in that i see different kinds of visual things before the migraine hits. i usually see glints of silver specks moving very fast and other things like auras visually before it hits. then that pain hits; it is like i have been hit over the head with an iron frying pan and i get sick to my stomach and my eyes hurt and it hurts to keep them open.

my migraines are caused by a severe allergy to chicken and even if my food has been cooked in the same spot as chicken i get sick just from this little contact. this week i had a salad in the airport and the clerk must have, before me, handled chicken for another customer with her plastic gloves and i got sick from it 10 hours later.

i would love this device to work and can't wait to try it. i also will try other's solutions listed here too, for this.

right now when it hits i take midrin and if possible get accupuncture, and do deep breathing. I use something to vibrate the back of the neck and do hot and cold compresses alternating them.

When I get aura's about once a month I take 500 mg of quality chelated magnesium and the aura goes away, and I never even get the migraine! -sometimes I still get the nausea, but not very often. It's worth looking into...I don't even have to be lying down or take any pain killers.

I have aura migraine headaches -they are so debilitating that i lose feeling in my arm and it can effect my speech for a month.

After the first sign of the aura - I lay down immediately (i don't care where I am) I elevate my legs then take 800 -1200 mg Ibufen and wait for 30 minutes - it usually works

at the first sign of the aura, put a baby aspirin (the orange, chewable kind) under your tongue and let it dissolve. Works *every* time at preventing the headache part. Try it - you'll thank me.

Some years ago (about10) I had a severe headache, possibly a migraine. It was not going away,so my doctor ordered an MRI of my brain. The MRI was normal Thank God, and the headache went away after the MRI.

Subject is Cluster Headaches :

The melting tablet Maxalt and a 90% mixture of Oxygen was used to calm my brain before the deterrent Doxepin began to ease the shadows (aura) of my headache.

doxepin was the deterrent but left me feeling drugged heavily and, my vision was very tired for the first 3-4 days. After that the symptoms subsided the headache did not come back for over a year past the day I ceased taking the Doxepin. Then the shadows crept back into my eyes when i ceased taking the Doxepin.

Doxepin (15ml) was used to treat for my cluster headaches.

Case studied fall of 1999 to spring 2002.

I finally tried botox, injected into trigger points. Have been migraine-free for as long as it lasted. Interestingly enough, you will still get the typical sinus aches, due to allergies (if you are prone to getting them). Botox does not seem to affect that deep sinus tract.

It's interesting that this device, which produces a magnetic field, is said to alter brain patterns in some way and relieve migraine headaches for some people. I recently had two MRIs in which the technicians said the exposure to intense magnetic fields was "harmless" and had no effect. I had an intense headache and felt dizzy after the second one, which was using an especially strong magnetic field, but the technician claimed it wasn't from the MRI. But I certainly felt different afterwards. Well, you can't have it both ways. Either magnetic fields don't do anything to change the brain, or they do, and it appears from the studies of this device, that they do something significant. This makes me wonder about the thousands of people who undergo MRI tests each year, is it harming us in some way (or perhaps doing some good in some way)? Has anyone studied this?

The device sounds quite a bit like the Alpha-Stim device which generates a very small electrical impulse with good results with migrane.
