With a Broken Hip Comes Higher Risk for Dying

Reader Comments

My mother died of incompetent medical care two weeks after suffering a broken hip. She was given a toxic cocktail of far too many painkillers which disoriented her and made her unable to speak for herself. Ultimately she died of a bleeding ulcer due to being over medicated and not having been given antacid, which if she was coherent she would have requested. I fear that many of our seniors die as a result of improper care after breaking bones or other curable problems.
