I'm grateful that there is AA. I'm sober now for 15 months and it only cost me $1 a meeting - 6 days a week! Its a proven program celebrating over 75 years of experience.

Fact: While AA is a 12-step program, sponsors are not confined to ANYTHING. Even the 12 steps themselves are only "suggested as a program of recovery".
Sponsors are all over the map in terms of how they work with sponsees. The one thing that they do all have in common is that they've been there, done that, and typically have a track record of sustained sobriety, one day at a time.
