Facinating and so revealing---need more of the same exploding myths especially those that promote mistrust, suspicious "illusions" and downright hate of "others
!!"

The response level to national disaster is awesome but it's a real shame that so many people take advantage of the negative situations.
I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill - there's always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.
This is in response to reading that 4 of Oprah Winfreys "angels" got busted ripping off the system. Shame on them!

After reading the article for 5 common pop myths, I can reassure you that if it's a coincidence, it's one of the most regularly occuring coincidences in the known universe. As an EMT-Paramedic, there's no great lack of extreme calls going out during both full and new moon cycles. Furthermore, when we as paramedics are getting our tushes handed to us, I usually peer to the sky to see what's happening w/ respect to the moon cycle. Those absurd calls never occur w/ that much frequency when it's not a full or new moon, because I check. If you are to believe that the earth has alterations in water movement of the oceans due to the moon's mere presence, and that our bodies are composed of atleast 98% water, why is it then entirely inconceivible that the affect of both new and full moons might cause extreme behavioral changes in humans. Perhaps it's just that there's more light on the nights when the moon is at it brightest, and we move around more, but sleep is also hard to come by on full and new moon nights. Coicidence or not, the same things were said about the earth being flat. We all know w/ time, our understanding of how things affect us, and the environment we are surrounded by change due to progress in scientifc studies, and knowledge. It is pre-mature to call the effects of the moon on carbon life a myth.

"A subset of people brimming with self-esteem could be considered narcissistic and are at heightened risk, says Lilienfeld, of aggression if challenged or insulted." - It is my experience that this kind of self esteem is a mask for truly low self esteem. People who can't stand a challenge to their supremacy do not have high self esteem.

Don't forget Multiple Personality Disorder/Dissociative Identity Disorder. Now the diagnosis is used as a silly plot device in stories, but in reality the 'disorder' has been found to be a clinically created manifestation of hysteria.

I worked at a nursing home in the graveyard shift and the botton level of the facility was for residents that were disfunctional and when the full moon was in place the resident were up all not doing strange things like walking around necked and were totally confused and this was the only time this will take place.
