Once again. I knew about this in high school, nearly 8 years ago, as have -- I'm sure -- those that preceeded me. Evidence was anecdotal, but apparent. You couldn't have a casual conversation in my college about drugs without mentioning Ritalin, and often with weed in the same sentence. Where have these people been the past decade? They need to get out from under the rock in their labs, and start talking to people. Marijuana activists have been complaining about this exact issue since the early 90's.

Doctors should take some responsibility for throwing these addictive garbage drugs at the kids. Ease up on the sugar, get a better nights sleep, and nobody needs this crap in the first place.

"Study finds doctors horrendously abusing prescription privileges" WHERE IS THAT ARTICLE!? IT NEEDS TO EXIST

How can you on the subject of the article state, "Prescription Drug Abuse .." and yet the last line of your article reports "did not report whether the teens involved were diagnosed with ADHD"

Its seems pretty irresponsible and incompetent to state that drug abuse has occurred without even knowing weather or not those drugs were prescribed by their family practitioner.

how about a little less fail.

Everyone in any college campus would be able to tell you that the over prescription of ADHD medication (and diagnosis) for them in Middle and High School has led to abuse of these drugs as recreational "study-aids" in college.

We all knew there was too many diagnoses of ADHD in the 90's but nobody cared. Doctors and drug companies were getting rich, parents were getting well behaved zombies, and schools had another avenue to funnel problem children. Another victory of the American Way in my humble opinion.

Such specific information for an AP release.. Makes you wonder why the "journalists" are withholding identification of the actual drugs in question. Prevention? But what about the facts? Moralistic judgements about the kid's behaviour are more appropriate for mass consumption..
