Everyone has two vocal cords. Anyone at any age can get a paralyzed vocal cord if the nerve to one of the vocal cords get injured or damaged. A paralyzed vocal cord is one of the problems in this world that can cause slower speech. It take two paralyzed vocal cords for a person to not be able to talk.
