Why the the writer pick a study from 2005 when several others have been done to show to benifits of Echinacea? I guess the writer has no use for research.

Absolutely true.

I am a night owl who has much difficulty falling asleep naturally (it takes over an hour despite doing all the right relaxing things hours before bedtime).

When I hesitantly started taking an OTC sleeping pill each night, I saw a distinctive drop in the number and duration of colds. What used to be 10-12 colds per year is now down to 4-6.

This is BS about Echinacea! The 2005 study was done with low doses and for a short period. It needs time to build up in your system. Do some research and you will find that many of the tests were done by drug companies. Can you trust them? This is simply bad reporting on the subject.
