I would recomend drinking orange juice or just sipping the broth of chicken noodle soup. Chicken noodle soup and orange juice are every cold's or viruses' weakness.

Never discount the needs of the human spirit to reach out to God. Even Time Magazine has sited different studies where patients who pray heal much faster. I too, have daily experiences of praying receiving not only consolation and healing but great peace as well...when I pray to my God.
