I hate my school lunch. Fight the power!

I do not believe that eating well costs more. In the long run it's less trips to the doctor and countless other otherwise unaccounted for things. Leave out the meat which we do not need. Eat a grain and legume in each day -- doesn't have to be the same meal -- for complete protein. Vegetable protein is a good as animal. Get B12 through milk, eggs or take a B12 supplement if you're not sure. It will pay well in the long run.

i believe this is true. For students in impoverished regions where hunger is the norm, food should boost their health and by extension their performance. My wife is doing a study on the effect of nutrition on academic perfomance of secondary school students in Calabar, Nigeria. Sadly, there's been a dearth on local literature, which points to lack of interest in whether or not students eat well or not. Afterall, many teachers do not eat well.it could make interesting reading: The impact of free breakfast on teacher effectiveness.

I honestly believe this idea was the best, because it helps kids do better in school and be healthy because the majority of the kids whatever you give them to eat they'll eat it. I believe it's just the ways kids see it because if you tell them you want vegetables the most common answer they'll give you is no! Or if you just give them nothing but vegetables they probably wont eat it. It depends a lot how and with what you serve them the vegetables. And other healthy foods. I hope all schools change for the better of all.

i'm doing reaserch for a speech i have to give in my school and i decided that this being an on going thing with kids my age i could take a wack at it. but any way; i believe that better school lunches can improve the GPA's of students at the least. it improving math spisifically could be true with my after lunch math class, i dont think any body passes with flying colors in that class; sleep is more of what the class partains to, lol. point be better foods could enhance other aspects of the learning field as well. the agracutural aspects that i believe have become fairly lacking and this could help save money and or earn money for schools. and a thought; some kids dont have the oppertunity of lunch making in the morning so really school lunch or no lunch becomes the option. from my own teenage brain wire up of self esteem matters i think that improving the diet will incurage kids to eat healther without lame peer presure of 'are you really eating carrots' deal to 'why are you stuffing your face with donuts?' witch is what we wont right. bonuse this could even help eliminate some of the teen groups that are 'going through a rough patch' not saying that i'm not one of one of them, but it could encurage better attitudes toward life.

so theres me drowning on about life as it seems to want to iretate us as. thanks for the data collection being, this will be graet help in a speech.

love the gramer ya!

As a teacher in NE PA, I observe the fatty foods that the kids are eating and wonder why we are't doing better for them. THEY don't know better, we do!! We know that eating a hunk of white pasta at 11 oclock is going to slow down the metabolism. We know that apples and oranges are good for kids. We know that cold french fries do not make a healthy lunch. But we give it to our kids and say "This is school lunch". They think because we give it them that is must be OK. I am glad to see someone saying that a change is needed...too many sluggish students, too many overweight kids, too much junk in...hoping and praying for a change in the system, one school at a time.

It probably won't make you smarter, but it will certainly allow you to use what you have to the greatest extent possible!
