Its true, I been working out and eating healthy for 27years. But never keped a food recored. But I can see that help me see know more of what I eat in somedays. Like I can eat light, but bee hunry all day, thats becuase I dont eat protine nor carbs on does days. Others I eat 3 meals with snacks with protine and carbs, vegs and whole grain. I feel better and eat less.

I have been keeping a food diary and I am actually having the opposite problem. I tend to not eat enough calories for the day but I am not losing. I am told that I don't eat enough to speed up my metabolism. Could this be true? I am trying to lose about 15 pounds, I am 5'7" tall and my calorie intake has averaged between about 700 and 1000 calories per day. I also tend to go long periods without eating and I don't eat much if anything for breakfast because I leave for work so early (between 4:30 and 5:00) and I am not hungry that early and I work out of my car do i am not in an office so I don't eat much during the day till I get home.

It is so true, if you write down what you eat you are more likely to think twice about what you put in your mouth. I'm using NutriMirror, an on line food tracker. I've lost 15% of my weight and am now using this system as a maintenance program. I'm not looking at this a weight loss but a new way to look at food.

I'm much more aware of portions when I write down what I eat. I have no problem measuring food. If you do it enough at home it becomes easier when you eat out to imagine the portion you should eat. Because restaurants serve such large portion, ask for a "to go" box with your meal and divide before you start to eat.

This system is much easier you me to follow and it's free.
