Having traveled extensively in Central America and worked in both Brazil and Argentina I would recommend that up on arrival you head for the local pharmacy and secure some tincture of opium, also called Paregoric. It is sold over the counter in most developing countries and while it only treats the symptoms and not the cause, it will stop the Aztec Two-Step DEAD.
