Got a Skin Rash? How to Tell Eczema From Seborrheic Dermatitis

The article is just the tip of the iceberg--eczema is a maddeningly complicated condition. Anyone who has it--or has a child who has it--could get in-depth information as well as encouragement via the National Eczema Association, which publishes a quarterly magazine. I only wish it had been around when I was a child. NEA also supports basic research leading to advances in knowledge and treatment.

I read through the article to discover how I can tell the difference between the two types you indicated in your successful "call to action: headline - low and behold, it resides in the final paragraph and that is to go to your doctor and get a test to determine how to tell. Rather misleading in my book.

Thanks to the two others who have posted for some valkid and current information. It appears the leading article was not researched very deeply as well as these points made in the comments were not exposed.

I have eczema on my face, hands and feet. The only product that has worked for me these past two years is made by dermatologist Dr. Jason Rivers from Vancouver, BC, Canada. The line called Riversol is amazing and should be sold everywhere!

Good article w some helpful info. We have already tried many of your suggested treatments for our little boy who is four. He has suffered from severe Eczema and food allergies all his life and nothing would work. We went through docs, allergists, children's hospital, meds and creams (Elidel, Protopic, steroids etc.) all to occasionally "cover up" his symptoms. I feel that too often people think their skin or child's skin is healing when in fact, many of these creams do have potential dangers to them and they aren't "healing" they are just treating the symptoms. We have been there as a parent! We were desperate to treat the cause and our prayers were heard when we found out about Vidazorb's children's chewable probiotics. Finally, he does not have to be on any of these other (in my opinion, scary) medications. I am so thankful to have found a safer alternative that has really really made him better! He now looks and feels like a normal little boy! Caroline *mommy of two
