I am living in Scranton, PA where I am from. I WAS IN ALTERNATIVE MEDICAL SCHOOL (on 21st and Broadway) ON 911, and inhaled the dust on my way that evening to the subway to go home to Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn where I found several inches of the dust in my back yard and on our 3 cats-brushed them off and inhaled more. I STAYED STAYED IN NYC TILL OCT 2008. I now have Diminished Lung Capacity, Shortness of breath, increase densities growing in my right upper and left lower lung, bi-lateral pleural effusion with blood, hemoptysis (cough up blood), constant runny nose and cold with chills plus fatigue. My 2 local hospitals biopsied the fluids and lung tissue and found aggregation (increased clumping and numbers) of mesothelial cells and lymphatic cells and inflammation and "black lung" syndrome--streaks of black in my lung. So far-no cancer cells -thank God. They can't figure out a cause ("unknown etiology"), nor what to do to help me. I am now weak and in an electric Jazzy wheelchair. I am seeking to find a hospital in NYC to come back into NYC to evaluate and help me. Any thoughts?

Most responders would say they'd do it again--they're "just doing their job"--their humble, heroic nature is inherent. But we need to protect them. Safer recovery procedures and enforcement of those regulations must also be enacted. Recovery workers' lives should not be sacrificed to recover the deceased.
