Actually, dietitians and nutrition scientists say the best eating strategy is to emphasize variety from within a basket of healthful foods: fruits, vegetables, lean protein sources, legumes, whole grains, and, when you use fat, the "good" kinds. While many of the health benefits of diet have yet to be teased out, that plan will maximize your exposure to vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that most likely work best together, not in isolation.
