Like a bulked-up version of Banglz, these 4- to 7-pound weighted sleeves are strapped to the calves or arms and worn under everyday clothing. A company-sponsored study found that wearing 15 pounds worth of Body Togs for 10 minutes burned 14 percent more calories than not wearing them for the same period. It's an "effortless" workout, according to the company. Hardly, says Fernstrom. "Even 5 pounds targeted to your calves or ankles is going to be too much for most people, especially those not conditioned." As for the 14 percent burn boost, says Fernstrom, "don't expect to lose weight without putting in the effort."
