TBRN, these studies aren't done on one individual. No doubt, they are referring to an average, which is significant over a large number of people, even though, as you rightly say, such a drop may not be significant with respect to a single individual.

I have been a registered nurse for thirty odd years. There is no way to detect a one point difference in blood pressure with any degree of accuracy. No two consecutive readings will EVER be as close as one point much less a tenth of a point. Show me your methods!
