Richard, If you carefully read this article you would understand the article is commenting on a report given by the CDC (Center for Disease...in case you didn't read that far) which "found that people who had recently gotten a dog were at higher risk of infection".

If you think it is too stressful for the public to be told to wash their hands after playing with their beloved pets then perhaps you shouldn't be reading the articles on these types of websites at all, it stresses you too much but then it does truly help to actually read carefully to understand who is reporting what in the dissemination of information.

Kindly..

Such a rebel. Reads an article that simply states things that most people know as common sense and thinks it is a conspiracy to instill fear for profit. Poor Richard probably thinks Obama is a commie and mankind has nothing to do with climate change.

I'm sorry to see your magazine continue this sad trend in journalism. Under the guise of public service, normal activities like getting a dog are made into threats everyone needs to be warned about. "Choosing the wrong toilet paper could kill your family!" "More on this report at 11. Don't miss it!" Likewise the Weather Channel has become the Weather hysteria channel.

I guess this kind of fear-mongering is necessary to avoid the very real threat of extinction faced by magazines and newspapers.

Too bad.

I'm a sixth grader and have a health class and was wondering if Campylobacter is related to Ecoli. Don't unrefridgerated products catch Ecoli which give a sickness.
