I hate it when they give the amount of calcium as a percentage of the government recommendation. What the heck is that? Just tell us how many grams of calcium, PLEASE!!!

When I serve plain, non-fat regular yogurt, I scoop it out from the side of the container, creating a "well" where the liquid collects. I pour off the accumulating liquid and drink it. The remaining yogurt is thicker and can be used in much the same way as Greek yogurt.

There is not enough solid evidence to state that saturated fat raises cholesterol. EVEN MORE SO, there is solid evidence that saturated fat DOES NOT increase the risk for heart disease:

Please read this article from the link above and understand the real science behind the truth, not just myths passed on.

If I watch the additions to the greek yogurt, this would be a really good choice for my 17 year old son who is constantly being monitored to gain wait. He eats a lot of yogurt. I can add seeds and granola to it too to increase the calcium too. Thanks for the information.

The fat from Greek yogurt raising the blood cholesterol and chances of heart attack? Upon which valid resource do you base this hogwash? I suppose the author isn't aware that blood glucose levels have a far greater impact on serum cholesterol and, more importantly, the oxidation of that cholesterol?

The fat in Greek yogurt, as with other high fat foods, is a major part of the satiety factor. Moreover, low carb & saturated fat & high protein certainly does nothing to raise cholesterol.....you need to get your dietary knowledge and perhaps quite a bit of nutritional physiology--up to par before you write this sort of junk. I imagine you're still squawking about the "high cholesterol" in eggs raising serum cholesterol and heart disease rates as well? What's worse is that the author is actually paid to parrot debunked dietary myths like these.

Sad.

I have IBS and Reflux. I love greek yogurt and usually buy the plain flavor and add fruit. Could I be hurting or healing myself?
