There is a magic trick. All skinny people know it, and can't imagine that you don't know it. That's why they can't tell you what they do that you don't.
Ask yourself one question. What is hunger? It is in no one's financial interest to tell you, so you can't look it up. You gave it up as a child, because it is unbelievably inconvenient and they have been convincing you ever since that hunger means malnourishment or starvation. You switched to hunger-prevention mode, like most everybody else.
You can't 'remember' an experience -- because experience is not mental and memories are. Like when you found your balance to ride a bike? You'll remember in the exact instant that you feel hunger.
Get hungry. One time. In-your-gut hungry. What can it hurt? You've tried everything else. Use a nutritious means to get there -- vegetable/fruit drinks, say -- until hunger comes up. It will take w-a-a-a-a-a-y longer than you suspect. (ps this is why a fast works to start a diet. Do the fast. Give up the diet.)
When you experience in-your-gut hunger, there will be no doubt in your mind. Listen to your hunger – it speaks. You will be hungry for carbohydrates and nothing else – at least that first time – because carbohydrates satisfy hunger. Proteins and fats don’t. In fact, when hunger restores your taste buds, you won’t be able to stand grease. Hunger provides working taste buds. Has your skinny friend ever told you, “I just eat when I’m hungry”? “Food loses its flavor when I’m full”? Working taste buds turn on and off. If you have succumbed to hunger-prevention, you’ve got a huge treat waiting for you when you discover hunger again. It is such a primal experience, you will literally remember the last time you felt it even if it’s decades. Diets immediately cause you to lose your hunger, if you had it to start with. Eating with the mind is not the way you’re designed. Homo sapiens, by definition, is slim. You’re different? Trust your body; you’ve tried everything else.

I am just about to run into the fridge and snack on some yogurt. I figured this is ok because it is healthy. But from reading this article, I thought I'll skip it and just have it in the morning. I am currently overweight from giving birth, I used to be 110 pounds and after giving birth I became 140 and never went down from there.-- Capella Campomayor of Kansas

man is gifted with thinking and common sense. when I read all these articles it looks we humans are dumb and need tutoring in every matter. simple diet, water before meals, walk, no sugar, and no smoking can do wonders and we humans know it. still we spend lot of time reading articles.

Get rid of the calorie outlook. Calories only tell us how much energy we would get if the food were burned. Our bodies digest, not burn.
Make sure you know how a food will affect your insulin levels (which contribute to fat content in your blood [triglycerides are made from glucose], your sugar storage[as fat], and metabolic syndrome.)
Read read read about how food affects you when you eat it.
Then live your life eating the things that best feed your body.

I love this article because most people I know that struggle with weight loss are lying to themselves about their calories in and their expenditure through exercise. If more people were diligent on those two items then I believe there would a lot more weight loss success.

If you want to gain weight eat wheat. If, on the other hand, your intention is to lose weight, avoid wheat. Think about this; we send wheat to nations in which the people are starving. It is a proven fact that pound for pound wheat is the most nutricious food. And don't forget that sugar consumption is not prescribd for anyone who whishes to lose weight.

Having the right goal from the very start I guess is the key to success. The goal must be to FEEL good. The LOOK good will follow. I used to be 189 pounds and I am only 5'4". I maintained being 120 lbs or 2 years now. -- Capella Campomayor, New York
