HCG Diet Dangers: Is Fast Weight Loss Worth the Risk?

I am currently on the HCG diet plan. I have lost about eight pounds in three days. As much as i love that, i dont like being hungry and knowing i am eating way under what i should be eating. HCG can take off up to seventy pounds over 45 days but at the end of the diet if you as a person don't want to or know how to maintain healthy eating habbits all that weight will just come back. I think there are better programs out there like weight watchers that actaully teach you portioning. You dont have to starve yourself but you shed the pounds away.

This diet seems dodgy. I still think it is better not to lose too much weight in the one go. The quicker it comes off the quicker it goes back on simple as that. I have been on crash diets before and the outcome is always the same. I use a nasal spray for sinus allergies by sinusoothe and gave their weight loss pills a go because the nasal spray has been so amazing for me. Their pills really do work.

I'm a 68 yr. old man on day 30 of this diet and have lost 20 lbs. without any major cravings. The info above does not mention the thyroid and detoxification pils I am taking in conjunction with the hcg. The diet also allows for sirloin stake, chicken breast and ground beef. Everything was at a cost of $250.

Does anyone know if one may breastfeed on the hcg diet?

This a very dangerous diet that is even invading the senior set. After a certain age, excess weight loss can result in the inability to fight any debilitating disease. There IS a reason that we gain some girth as we age. That fat padding allows us to weather disease storms. Towards the end of the life cycle the fat begins to release as the body prepares to transition. PLEASE get some prominent doctors to give warnings for these stupid women in their 70's who are trying to look 19 and in the process risking their ultimate health!!

I found this to be very helpful. http://www.anumed-intl.com/ehcg/ Has an entire menubook and plan.

All I know is that it is working for us and we've never felt better. Sure, it's hard for the first week or so, but we were no longer starving after 2 weeks. Husband has lost 20 pounds in less than a month and I have lost 11 and I don't have a "lot" to lose. Whatever the case, this is working and it's worked for 3 of my friends who have maintained their weight for well over a year.

This is an amazing diet and it works. All those who spew hatred about the diet are actually the ignorant ones. I lost 20 lbs in 32 days - not a crazy number each day, but I had less to lose. The diet does not work because one only eats 500 calories. A 500 calorie diet alone would only cause muscle loss. The HCG releases 2,000 calories A DAY from your fat storage areas to be used by the body for fuel... Your skin becomes tighter and your hair becomes shinier.

It's funny. Those who have used this diet can't say enough about it's greatness. Those who have never tried it do nothing but angrily condemn it. It works. Thank you Dr. Simeon!!

I tried the HCG diet back in March of this year and it worked wonderfully for me. I haven't had any problems except a few headaches, but I can't say it was the drops because headaches have always been a problem. I have heard some people say that it serves as a appetite suppressent, but that wasn't the case for me, I expecienced hunger. I lost a total of 60 lbs and can honestly say I didn't gain any back until recently, and that was because I was eating a lot of starches and sugars. As of today, my body has been HCG free since July. The weight I gained is my fault cause I was eating what I wanted. The HCG program can help you determine what is good for you and whats not. If I want to drop the pounds that I've gained, all I have to do is change my eating habits.

I've tried every diet known to man and was so hungry all the time that I'd begin eating more than recommended. If I exercised an hr./day (fast walking) my wt. loss was between 1/2 - 1 lb. Finally, at 52 yrs. I've had unbelievable success w/ this diet! I'm using the drops which are expensive but so is having a future heart attack, stroke, or diabetes! I'd highly recommend it for those who are like me--so hungry on other diets.
