Today is my second day on hcg. I'm eager to see if it really works. Weighed in on Monday 5/14/11 @189.6. I'm going wait until Sat5/21/11 to weigh myself. I believe i can stick to 500-700 cal. Well see...

I was the biggest skeptic of the hCG diet, like many other HCPs and judgmental people who say they eat right and exercise to lose weight (like who hasn't). Until I tried it myself that is. I used prescription grade tablets that dissolve under the tongue. The first round I followed the original protocol to the letter. I lost 21#, had shiny hair, and thick, long fingernails I could never begin to grow prior to hCG. I never felt sick, my mood improved markedly, and I was seldom hungry. I lost fat, not muscle as evidenced by the 10" missing from my waist, abdomen, and hips. My thighs underwent very little change, and my calves are still the same today. I am a masters prepared RN, and can quickly identify malnutrition and wasting. Nutrition science has changed markedly since the original protocol was written, so for my second round I increased my calories to 700 by adding additional lean protein. I am only a week in to this new round, and have lost 9.0# already. My theory was correct. I still lost weight with slightly higher calories (and yes, I am aware 3500 calories = one pound, and 700 is a small portion of that; and then when you consider the basal metabolic rate, of course you will still lose weight). The hCG diet is low GI, lean protein, low fat. It's healthy except for the very low calorie nature. I stopped craving food, and eating when I wasn't hungry. I got in touch with why I over ate, and 28 days of not doing it helped establish new eating patterns. I am monitored by a licensed health care professional, and will have labs drawn shortly. If my cholesterol goes down as my blood pressure has, you will have a hard time convincing me hCG doesn't work and it's placebo effect. I couldn't lose weight and keep it off on 1200 calories of Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, or just plain eating healthy. I believe 500 calories probably is too low. New placebo controlled studies (not those from the 70s or 90s) are needed to determine exactly why people lose weight and have good outcomes with varying degrees of caloric intake on hCG. If people can safely lose weight on prescription grade hCG, as many have, under the supervision of a HCP (I don't have an opinion on homeopathic drops), what's the problem? To each his own. Don't knock it until you understand it, and study it. Lastly, the protein portions are 3.5 oz., which is a standard serving (3-4 oz). Please do your homework before putting out incorrect, incomplete information. Thank goodness Dr. Atkins kept up his research along with Dr. Agatson!

I have tried alot of diest also. and yes getting out of your chair helps to.

My problem was that i was 5'7" and just shy of 200lbs. and I also tried alot of diets. what i liked about mystichcg is that they have a support community, where you can talk to other people, and you can call them with questions.

I lost 34lbs in 1 month and have kept it off for the last 2 months. Im not completly super skinny, but i did have to go out and buy new pants. (i guess thats a good sign right) lol. remember that the FDA will call anything bad that is not the question. but i find it funny that one thing is bad in one country yet good in another, does an imaginary border make one product more effective then the rest? I would think not. lol...

What can one say... be as judging and suspicious as you want . I know it works.

It changed my mental state about food and cravings. It just went away after a week on the drops.

I find it so interesting that so many FDA "people" trash this program. For one, it is not a diet. It is a lifestyle change. People are SO uninformed about it, it's crazy. I did my research, took HCG drops for two separate rounds and have lost a total of 27 lbs. I have not gained anything back. I have tried Atkins, Weight watchers, cabbage diet, 30 day diet, southbeach and NONE of them either worked as far as weight loss....or I gained it back plus more immediately. HCG resets your Hypothalamus so that you can eat normally and not gain the weight back. It is so funny that so many medical people say it doesnt work, yet their are SO many people out there that are laughing at them.....cuz it DOES work. I just don't even tell people anymore....because...why bother. I have the secret and they are too closed minded to take the information in. So I benefit....they lose....as well as their wallets. Weight Loss is one of the BIGGEST money makers. The FDA can't make lots of money off HCG....so they want to squash it as a weight loss remedy. So do all the other weight loss product pushers. It worked for me....I'm happy and healthy. It will be interesting to see if in the future, the FDA finds some way to make money off HCG and changes their tune. Skinny Kimi

I have lost over 40 lbs just by getting out of my computer chair, eating a wide variety of healthy foods ( in proper portions) and moving my body. At first I could barely walk a mile but I kept at it and adjusted as my capabilities increased. Today I have conquered asthma, knee problems, sciatica and feel( and look) better than I have in ten years. Our bodies are amazing! They are just begging for some real nutrition and activity! I feel if it's at all possible avoid these extreme diets and just utilize the awesome power of our bodies.

I just got my HCG drops and information in the mail today. I am very excited. I have very high hopes. I work a full time job in a small hospital and I am a full time student. There is no time for exercise. I spend my day at work and my evenings sitting at a desk doing school work. I have about 25 to 30 extra pounds that I am looking to get rid of. My birthday is in July and my goal is to spend my birthday in a bikini at the lake.

I have read about this diet and I feel that it is the best option for me and my situation. I will check back in a month and let yall know how I have done.

My 75 year old mom is trying to shed 20+ pounds but is trying to do it w/o exercise. She is not considered obese in this our state so diet pills cannot be prescribed by the Dr. I'm hoping this option (the hgc drop and watching her cal intake) will help.

Have any elderly folks tried the diet with success or recommend against it? I've had mobility disabled folks express concern also about trying this diet.
