I find it hard to believe that MacDonalds isn't the worst fast food place on there. I always thought that Mickey D's was, like, one of the worst fast food places arond. One time my mom saw a MacDonalds employee picking his nose on the job! I had always thought hat Taco Johns was a good place to eat. I don't think I will ever eat there again.

In my opinion, those businesses don't even sell food. Sure, Burger King and McDonald's (and I think Subway) offer the apples. However, they are already cut, which I think means that more nutrients disappear, and are probably treated with a preservative (probably not something natural like lemon juice), and one chain, I do not know which PEELS the apples and takes away most of the nutrients and fiber.
I find the McDonald's advertisements in the parent magazines amusing. Yeah. Like I'm going to believe that the Happy Meal is healthy, or healthier because of the all-white meat nuggets and the apple slices and the milk that is intended for a calf. (The ingredients list on the McDonald's site does say it is all-white meat, but the nuggets also contain artificial fillers. I guess that even though they post it, like most companies, they don't count on the consumer being smart enough to read ingredients lists.)

In terms of healthier places, there is Panera and Chipolte. My gripe with Chipolte is that they only offer white rice. On the rare occasions I go there, I just ask for a bit of extra black beans. There is also Pita Pit. They not only have a nice vegetarian/vegan section, but they also offer whole wheat pitas as well.
For the most part, I don't even call places like McDonald's and Burger King, etc., food. If anything, I say it's "food".
I'm the mother of a three-year-old and a five-week-old. I'm the parent and I CHOOSE to not take them to those places. In September, my daughter and I were going to my parents' house for a week and we rode with them from our house. We stopped at a Taco Bell and that was the first time she had been to one. Her exposure to Mexican food has been at real Mexican restaurants. She didn't care for the lettuce (it's about the only vegetable she doesn't like; Every time she gets some with a dish, I tell her to try some, but she doesn't have to eat it all), but went for the beans and I even let her have the cheese. She liked it with some salsa.
Her only association with McDonald's has been emergency diaper and potty stops on road trips and my husband meets his mother there when she goes to his parents' house for the day. I'm rather proud of that.

Has anyone ever considered creating a Healthy "fast food" restaurant? I am thinking about this, with all this info about the current fast foods places not really being a healthy place to eat( fun and convenient maybe, not so good for our future generations)I am not bad mouthing the ones we have, they do have tasty food:)

I think the fast food thing has gotten a little out of hand these days. There was just a Jack in the Box opened here, where I live, about a week ago and they had to have COPS come out and direct traffic and close one of the entrances. It's ridiculous. I thought this article was great. It is nice to know that there are a few places I can grab a quick and healthy meal for my daughter. And to the "this is stupid" comment that was left: if someone can't afford to buy toys for their children, then they probably shouldn't be out buying fast food meals and get their priorities straight.

u guys its called fast food for a reason and as long as they follow health code they should be allowed to do what they want. they also shouldnt bann toys from kids meals; some people dont have the money to go get the best toy and thats where they can get a toy and a meal for such low(ish) prices.

these places should get the idea to try to sell better food for humans, although its not all there fault because not every food is healthy but its worth a try!! people who usually order unheathly food thats listed should learn!!
helps alott! thanks
