Many Docs Use Costly MRIs to Diagnose Nerve Condition: Study

This is silly. If the neuropathy is not caused by diabetes, the glucose tolerance test is worthless. There are more than 100 possible causes.

As for the MRI, a much less expensive test is to strike a tuning fork and place the base on the patients big toe nail. If he doesn't feel the vibration, he has neuropathy.

They have no successful allopathic treatment for neuropathy. Most doctors will not event record the symptoms of autonomic neuropathy because they have not treatment.

For peripheral neuropathy they can only treat the pain. An MRI will not determine whether a patient is in pain.

Sounds like this is just a plea for more research dollars for not useful purpose.
