Pioglitazone reduces DHEAS. DHEAS is the precursor of the active molecule, DHEA. DHEA has been found to "slow the progression of type 2 diabetes" in rats (Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics 2001; 3 (2): 211-219).
I suggest these findings may be explained by increases in DHEA as a result of pioglitazone stimulation of the conversion of DHEAS to DHEA. (N Engl J Med 2011; 364:1104-1115 Pioglitazone for Diabetes Prevention in Impaired Glucose Tolerance)

Actos is a horrible drug. It is in the same class as the Diabetes drug Avandia that caused death. The Drug maker did this Study..WHAT A JOKE
The Avandia Drug makers just settled and paid 2.5 Billion dollars in Damages from Deaths and heart attacks. Actos is the same class of drug and has also been linked to the same heart damage
Food Chemicals are the cause of the diabetes and obesity crisis
The FDA and Drug makers know this and are laughing to the Billionaire$$$ bank
The food chemicals break the gut(insulin) and this is the cause of the diabetes and obesity crisis
A filmmaker has been reversing diabetes and Obesity in now 10 countries and the drug makers do not promote the story
