School lunches are really bad for you. I don't mind indulgences, food is supposed to taste good, but the fact that the veggies are the smallest thing on the tray makes me think that the pizza is not helping the obesity problem. Food for our kids should be fun and enjoyable. My kids love veggies because it is one of the main things in their diet. Sure they get other things, but asparagus and lemon juice is easy and good. Expose your kids more to the foods you say they hate, and you might be suprised. Find something new in the produce department and try it. If we want our kids to be excited about nutrition, we should be too.

It seems all students get a subsidized lunch program any more. If so, what has the First Lady been doing before and after her Vacation to Spain to eradicate obesity in the government sponsored lunch programs??? Has she failed to live up to her promises like her husband?

You think kids are going to eat this stuff? Like...Veggies and hummus? The reporter must be a former hippie or doesn't have kids.

Reading the title i was expecting to see lunch ideas that i could use for myself. I consider myself to be a healthy person, but a "PLT" or "ham and cheese shish kababs" are not exactly healthy choices. Bringing lunch from home is definitely healthier than cafeteria food, but the options laid out in this article are not exactly healthy.
