I remember back in the 50s, people in my hometown back in the Philippines ate unprocessed rice since the only available machine to strip out the shell of the rice was a simple rice mill, nothing else followed after that. I grew up seeing the same people up to their 90s. Nowadays there is an uncontrollable increase of diabetics as well as obese young children. Brown rice unmistakably replaces white rice.
