The comment added by "Weight Loss Myth" is an ad. If you follow their link to the "News 7 Report" which is made to look like an actual news site, you will see that the links to "weather" and "local news" etc. are all fake. Fake website. It's just another shameful weight loss gimmick. Don't be fooled! Follow the common sense tips in this BBC news article if you want to lose weight and keep it off.

Nice article. Some nice tips. But I just finished reading an eye opening weight loss report by Stacie Sandler on news 7.She personally tested two of the best selling weight loss products in America and wrote an honest review. I was so shocked by the result of test after I finished reading the report because she revealed some of the hidden secrets in weight loss industry that the pubic will never know.

I strongly recommend you read the report because it will tell you how to really lose weight instead of losing your money on those products that won't work! You can read the report here:http://news7report.yotrendz.com/health/

"Can you post that study ? I don't agree at all."

Here is a link that shows eating 3 meals provides better appetite control:

Here is a link that shows increased meal frequency does not affect weight loss:

Here is a link that discusses meal frequency does not affect weight loss:

All that matters at the end of the day is the total number of calories consumed. People will lose weight at any meal frequency as long as the calories consumed are less than expended. People can do fine eating 6 or even 9 meals per day. However, science shows that you have better appetite control with only 3 meals.

"Bodybuilders follow the multi meal plan and most are ripped."

Bodybuilders follow all sorts of plans, but I don't believe your claim that the ones that eat 6 meals are more ripped. There are ripped bodybuilders that fast 18 hours a day. There are also bodybuilders that follow the warrior diet, which involves eating once per day. Google Martin Berkhan and you'll see one that maintains 5% bodyfat year round by eating 3 meals per day.

My advice to any woman gaining weight without a change in her eating habits or exercise is to have very basic FASTING labwork done:

Glucose: over 89 is Met B

LDL cholesterol: over 99 without medication can be Met B

triglycerides: under 50 or over 99 is Met B

hemoglobin A1C: under 5.4 and over 5.7 is Met B

insulin: over 3.0 is Met B

Vitamin D: under 32 is Met B

The answer to your weight gain dilemma may very well be spelled out in these labs. The reference range after the labs will help to indicate if you have "textbook" metabolism or Metabolism B (aka metabolic syndrome). If your results are out of the ranges I've listed, you most likely are one of the millions of people (both men and women) who have inherited the genetic predisposition to hyperinsulinism....your pancreas produces excess fat gain hormone: insulin. Over time, this excessive insulin release will cause your cholesterol, and triglycerides to rise on the "inside" and an increase in midline belly fat and 'back fat" on the "outside."

The symptoms of uncontrolled Met B are: fatigue, mild depression, anxiety, carb cravings, never feeling 'full', midline fat, easy weight gain and difficult weight loss, intermittent blurry vision, decreased libido, aches/pains/joint stiffness, brain "fog", difficulty sleeping, racing thoughts, etc.

If left untreated, excess insulin not only causes high circulating fat and overweight, but also contributes to hypertension, diabetes, and estrogen based breast cancer.

Believe it or not, for the over 50% of overweight people with Met B, a low fat, low cholesterol, low calorie diet EXACERBATES WEIGHT GAIN! Since the early 1970's all you've heard is decrease fat, decrease cholesterol, "calories in - calories out"...and since the early 1970's, obesity, heart disease, and diabetes have risen to epidemic proportions.

Please go to : http://www.themetabolismmiracle.com and read more about the only lifestyle program written to match the metabolism of those genetically prone to metabolic syndrome. I am a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator who has specialized in weight loss, obesity, and diabetes management for over 25 years. Trained traditionally, I realized that the answer is not in traditional diet mechanics. Do yourself and those you love a favor...go to the site and read about this....the ADA and AMA are not going to tout its success rate as those who follow the program decrease or eliminate medications. IT is a NY Times Bestseller and is the 2010 diet book of the year "Daily Mail" in the UK. Also #1 in S. Africa and Australia. Good luck to everyone struggling with weight and health....chances are the answer is in The Metabolism Miracle.
