I will admit that coffee addiction is real for me. I have been trying to consume less and less coffee for the last 3 months, and some days are better than others. I am trying to drink tea that has a much lower amount of caffeine, and at the same time not drink too much tea as well. What I do find is that I am not as tired at night time when I am able to just consume a lower amount of tea/coffee. Also, my over all health is better, but it could be that I am consuming more plain water and giving my body a chance to expend energy more evenly through out the day. Not forcing my body to jump start and run hard till I drop in the evening. I did have horrible headaches, and muscle aches for the first month, and over time it has gotten better. I really don't like feeling like a substance has control over how I feel and how clearly I can think. I am glad I am working towards a lower caffeine consumption.

I STARTED DRINKING COFFEE AT AROUND 16 MAYBE ONE OR TWO CUPS PER DAY. UP UNTIL I WAS ABOUT 37 I DRANK ABOUT 3 OR 4 PER DAY. FROM 37 TO 58(21 YEARS) I DRANK 20 CUPS PER DAY WITH 3 PACKS OF PALL MALL CIGARETTES. I AM NOW OVER 70 AND DRINK 6 TO 8 CUPS PER DAY.I HAVE NEVER HAD MORE THEN A COLD OR BEEN SICK IN ANY WAY FOR MORE THAT 2 DAYS IN MY LIFE. I HAVE A YEARLY CHECKUP AND AM TOLD I LOOK AND HAVE A BODY 20 YEARS YOUNGER. I GIVE CREDIT TO MY DRINKING COFFEE AND BEING IN LOVE WITH MY WIFE.

I have been drinking coffee since I was 10 years old. At one point I was up to 3-4 pots a day. Then the rumours of cancer started. I think the stress from worrying about getting cancer did more damage. Over the years I disliked the "old " taste of coffee from sitting on the burner. I started drinking less. Now I drink 1 cup a day and sometimes forget that. And it has to be GOOD coffee. I am now 54 years old, so I feel confident its not addictive. But you know, they'll tell you something different tomorrow anyway......I never believe "them".

After years of having my many cups of Jo, and eating other acidic foods, my bladder started to become seriously inflammed. This caused frequent trips to the bathroom, pain and discomfort for years until the doctor was able to zero in on the problem (intersistal cystitis). Treatment is to eliminate coffee, eat low acid foods, and take medication - I now have a near pain-free life with this incurable condition. I recently heard of low acid coffee and am searching for the source in my community. I did not have with drawals, but still miss the flavor of a cup of black coffee.

I agree that too much caffine is bad for you but, if you use it wisely then it's not too bad. I only drink caffine if I need a wake up call so that I don't sleep the day away. I also use it if I had to work to the late hours/early morning then have to be back at 6am or 7am. That means only 3-4 hours of sleep if I'm lucky. Other then that I usually drink Hi C or something that is relaxing so I don't have Panic attacks a.k.a. anxiety attacks which if strong enough can lead to heart attacks. People need to get at least the average of 8 -10 hours of sleep. Caffine comes in different forms and we need to be careful not to put ourselves in the hospital while we're at it. Thankfully there are a variety of flavors and styles to enjoy. Coffee is nice but, too much at once can and WILL give you a panic attack. So drink it hot or drink it cold, the choice is yours but, so is the amount. Watch it or else you'll recieve a doctor billto go with it.

I am 79 years old, mother of six, and have been drinking coffee since I could steal some from somebody's. My Cajun ancestry has proven that caffeine does not do anything different for the body than anything else. Just enjoy it.

I was a career police officer for about 25 years and drank alot of coffee but knew my over due limits. I found tha the coffee boot up not only kept me awake it affected my moods, I was not as easy to anger and felt more sympathic to those that I dealt with. Alot of people like to see those that

break the law suffer for it but let me tell you first hand - it is unpleasant to

see anyone suffer for anything as we are all fellow creatures.
