Anything in excess can be bad. Vitamin C makes a cold, or the flu, more bearable. It's best to take supplements on an Irregular basis. Not habitually.

another article funded by big pharma to implant a dubious seed against vitamins in the minds of americans. instead of asking why we're spending millions of dollars on vitamins, why don't we turn our attention to the influx of prescription meds and how there have been 3 million deaths from prescription drugs vs 0 deaths from vitamins over the last 27 years? im happy to read no one here believes this shit.

I'd like to see the studies that prove Vit C causes Kidney stones or adverse health effects. Maybe when consumed as part of a sugary drink or in cooperation with additional additives are there negative effects; but when taken as a suppliment I don't think there have been any negative size effects (outsize of nausea when taken in HUGE doses). Seems thin. Maybe a link to those case reports...

OHMY! The information about vitamin C here is decades old debunked crap. Vitamin C is remarkably safe to take in very large quantities. Vitamin A and E are oil soluble and can be more dangerous. Also try to get a high gamma E with mixes tocopherols, if you take it. The usual store bought E is only alpha, which may crowd out the other tocopherols.

Re:Vitamin C. I started taking Vitamin C in 1968 because I read of its effectiveness in preventing Colds in a book published in 1934. I have not had a cold, sore throwt, (sp) influenza, or any other "Winter" ailment since then. Plus, the cost of Vitamin C is a lot lower than the costs of "Cold Remedies" that mearly cover symptoms.

This article reminds me of the funny I Love Lucy Vitameatavegamin commercial. All joking aside, it's important to talk to your doctor before taking vitamins and supplements, especially if you're taking other medications as they may have interactions. Natural Standard (www.naturalstandard.com) is a great resource that contains comprehensive information about vitamins and supplements.

All these "Sponsored Studies" are a bunch are a bunch of BS. They are just a way to increase sales.

Gypsies, tramps, thieves and politicians, Doctors, lawyers and Used car salesmen. All the Same.

God provided everything we need to eat for good health, but so much is taken out of its natural state, so much processing. We also deal with more stress and our natural defense system is weak SO we need help and Natural Supplements are the answer. We need to be on the preventive side of our health.

Shaklee is the #1 Natural Nutrition Co in North America and they have been helping people with their health for 56 years.

Yes anything in excess can be harmful. I am a two time stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma cancer survivor that went through a stem cell transplant. I do take preventative supplements and drink about a gallon and a half of high alkyline water a day. I just past my 4 year remission date and I am living proof of ok diet some supplements and lots of Kangen Water proves for me to be the remedy.

Please remember 1 thing we are the most Dr medicated country in the world and we are only the 47th healthiest. Not real good! Pick your poison, say some prayers and give till you have nothing left to give! JT
