I don't know much of anything about salt. However, while aspartame and perhaps other artificial sweetners increase cravings for fatty foods and sweets, stevia curbs those appetites. This is probably because the most common cause of cravings for sweets and fatty foods is a deficiency of the very minerals that are provided through stevia. When stevia is added to a regular diet, there is simply a loss of cravings for sweets!
I use SweetLeaf Sweetener Stevia!
