I've heard and read that Purslane is as rich as any plant source for Omega 3 content. It is also reputed to be much safer than any animal based source. I grow it organically. Many know this plant as merely a weed.

There is a great flax oil salad dressing from a company called Foods Alive. They have 3 different flavors, and they all contain over 50% organic flax oil. Check them out at www.FoodsAlive.com

Put down the word "Omega-3s" on a piece of paper and swallow it.

And for all of you fish haters - there are a lot of great fish oil supplements that DON'T taste like fish
Here is a quote from John Thomas author of “Young again: How to Reverse the Aging Process”.
"Canola oil comes from the rape seed, which is part of the mustard family of plants. Rape is the most toxic of all food-oil plants. Like soy, rape is a weed. Insects will not eat it; it is deadly poisonous! The oil from the rape seed is a hundred times more toxic than soy oil."

When trying to get the necessary nutrients in my diet from the food I eat it gets more than a little complicated' If I eat fish that are farm raised it is likely that the fish will not have Omega 3 because of the fishes diet. If I buy only wild caught fish I run the risk eating fish that are contaminated with all sort of pollution including heavy metals. Who would think even our spinach could be contaminated? The only other options is to buy our food from organically registered producers at a premium price and hope we are not being duped into paying more for the same contaminated food. How can we as consumers be sure of the quality and safety of the foods we eat? I see there bis a bill in the pipeline to change the way the Food and drug administration is going to monitor the way our food is raised, processed and distributed to us. The critics scream that it will greatly increase the price of our food. What is a bargain of the foods we eat now if we get sick or die from it. We can only hope the new system will make a positive change in the food chain so we can have confidence and pride in the food we consume again!

Great article. I hear alot of great testimonials from clients who have been treating depression, high cholesterol and other issues with Omega3. I'd like to make you aware that there is a better source of Omega3. Being forgotten for so long, Chia has finally been rediscovered! But not all Chia is the same, however. You should take a look at Mila. Mila contains one of the highest, if not the highest, amounts of omega 3 fatty acids known in the plant world. In the 1970’s and 1980’s, the “fat-free” diet craze took all fats out of our diet, including the good ones. Now we know the impact that healthy fats have on our general well-being. The alpha linolenic fatty acid (ALA) found in Mila is known as the only essential omega 3 fatty acid. This means that a person must consume this fatty acid because the body cannot manufacture it. The fatty acids in Mila are a near perfect balance, plus there is no cholesterol. You can read more about Mila or purchase Mila at www.mykindofgrain.com
