This is for Dr. Healy and Senator Kennedy:
With respect to treatment of (brain) cancer, I would strongly suggest the following reading:
1) "Anticancer: A New Way of Life" (Paperback)
by David Servan-Schreiber, M.D., Ph.D.
2) "Definitive Guide to Cancer" by Burton Goldberg
3) "Cancer Therapy: The Independent Consumer's Guide" by Ralph Moss, Ph.D.
4) "Beating Cancer with Nutrition" by Patrick Quillin.
From available evidence, cancer seems to be the disease of the breakdown of the body's immune system. Thusly, a treatment for cancer should include the strengthening of the immune system.
This can be done through nutritional approaches.
My knowledge of cancer and its treatment is a result of personal experience with the disease and significant research in the area. One of the results of this research has been an assessment paper, written with my wife:

dear ted kennedy,
there is one treatment for cancer that i heard of that very few people have tried. it may depend on what type of cancer you have i'm not sure but, it worked for a co-worker of mine. he ingests 7 drops of 30% food grade hydrogine peroxide (h2o2o) per day. it is said to increase the amount of oxygen in your system which kills cancer cells. you can search for it on the internet, some medical professionals say it doesn't work but others have proof that it does. this is just a suggestion.

In her Book Science and Health with key to the scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy was the founder and discoverer of Christian Science, the Truth that heals. Her system has not been found wanting. The Main Church of Christian Science is located right in Boston, Mass. In the Chapter on Fruitage, there are many testimonys of healings. I also have been in Christian Science since 1975 and have been healed of many things over the years including heart problems. This is a system different from all others that you will ever read about. I have faith that you will be completely healed. I can also recommend a wonderful healer to you.

Yes it appears that one pound of the flowering female buds will yeald two ounces of potent THC OIL. That is enough to injest one gram a day for three months, and said to heal just about everything. Could the online video "Run from the Cure" be true? we will never know unless we grow our own medicinal Marijuana and test it.

After reading the first comment, that not only gives me hope of info to share with ill friends and family but also the confidence of the info I would like to share.
In case anyone wants to discredit or not read on, I'll start with the fact that I am a huge medical cannabis/hemp supporter. That being said, there are many natural cancer fighting plants we know about and as I'm sure many we don't.
In the past few years (and technically since the 70's) there has been several under publicized scientific studies on cancer and THC (tetrahydracannabinol- the chemical that causes people to "get high"). Originally the studies were done on rats to show the dangers of THC and Cannabis under the Nixon presidencey but information showing quite the contrary was exposed. The study showed that rats with malignant breast, lung cancers and lukemia were showing signs of improving health, reduction or stoppage in tumor growth, and boosted immunoresponse to cancer cells. Not what the government was looking to prove....which brings us to current day.
Some recent studies in Spain and even in America are showing very promising results. A group of scientists referred to as the SETH Group, located in the United States, have been testing various methods of more holistic cancer research. The difference with this group is that they have access and ability to test new theories via the same methods new chemotherapeutic drugs go through. Their focus study it seems over the past few years has been the positive effects of THC and other Cannabinoids in HUMAN brain cell cultures with Glioblastoma multiforma (GBM). With results short of amazing in my opinion, they have found that THC and other active cannabinoids kill GBM in human brain cells at non toxic dose to healthy brain cells. Another which falls into the "skeptical" category, is the production of a proclaimed "hemp oil cure for cancer". Being the supporter I am and being able to see through the propaganda we see daily, I do believe in this. A man by the name of Rick Simpson in Nova Scotia used the original rat research to produce a "home made" concentrated THC oil (in the 80% THC range, most plants are in the 10-20% range), from what he grew in his backyard solely for this purpose. This oil killed his melanoma and since has helped "heal" numerous cancer cases (many terminal) along with a variety of illnesses. Sadly though it is illegal to produce, and even though he is saving lives at absolutely no cost (and he provides videos on how to make it yourself) he is in and out of jail for "drug trafficking". Sorry to be so long winded, but I believe Cannabis and other plants have an amazing healing ability if we can just get past the stigmas of "pot" and the usefulness of holistic medicines.

I was the one quoted in the CNN on-line story as GBM not being a death sentence. Maybe that was not the best way to word it but my point was that there is cause for hope given the treatment options available today. Yes, this tumor may be fatal for him but we should not automatically assume that will be the case. It is also important to recognize this is not just about him. There are thousands of patients and caregivers dealing with malignant brain tumors and a message of hope is realistic.
