6 Weight-Loss Tricks That Don’t Involve Dieting or (Much) Exercise

That is perhaps the WORST idea in this rather mediocre list. Daily weigh-ins are the best way to lose all motivation to continue any plan for better health! A person's weight changes depending on how much water they have, what time of day it is, how much they've, er, pooped... there are a thousand things that will alter you weight on an hour by hour basis. When you couple that fact along with the idea that using your weight is NOT the most appropriate barometer for success (percentage of body fat, BMI is way better), I can not think of a worse thing to tell someone trying to become more healthy. Please, think before you print something!

Just leaning over the toilet every evening seems to do it for me, I'm afraid to say. My body also has a very high metabolism. Then again, I am slowly recovering from anorexia so metabolism has seen a large boost.

I use the Feel Good Tracker iPhone/iPad/iPod touch app to track and rate my activities. It's super easy to use and is a bargain at 99 cents.

After thirty minutes of working out, you run to your bag, pull out a small box full of cookies and start to eat. Then, on your way back home you stop by a store and have a drink. You will lose nothing but time. You’re just wasting your time going in and out of the gym, and the extra pounds will stay where they are. Here is the solution that will help you lose the last ten pounds easily and smoothly, three steps that will melt the pounds that have been stuffed in your body for a long time.

The first step: set a separation period between your meal and exercise:

At least forty-five minutes between eating and exercising will provide your body with the energy it needs to undergo the right workout. A light snack of 500 calories may be enough to punch the extra pounds from your body when you go to gym.

Getting some nutrition in the forms of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, as consumed in the exercise process, will stimulate the metabolism and burn the extra calories. The most critical nutrient form is carbohydrates, for it gives us huge amounts of energy.

If you do this regularly, you will always have a good stimulation process that keeps your metabolism rate high, and every extra calorie that enters your body will burn.

The second step: water is the secret of all beautiful bodies:

The water content of your body has to be 80%. When you exercise for thirty minutes, you lose about two pounds of water. It is so essential that the body be able to compensate for the lost water. Adjusting to this will allow you to increase the workout time from thirty to sixty minutes, which will shorten the time period for the ten-pound loss. You will feel a notable difference through the effort you make, as your workout will go much more smoothly when you drink enough water. If for some reason you don't provide your body with the water it needs while you’re exercising, drink large amounts of water after you finish your workout. You’ll have more water in your body than you need, but it will give you the feeling of satiety, which will help you to wait patiently for the next meal.

The third step: set another separation period between the time you finished working out and the next meal:

If you so hungry after a workout that you cannot wait to eat, you are more likely to overindulge. Therefore, make it a daily routine to eat a meal, not immediately after your exercise, but within forty-five minutes. The most vital nutrient that your body needs in here is protein. Since your body will be in the midst of a rebuilding phase, protein is the best choice to support this.

If you follow those three simple steps for the next three weeks, you will be able to lose the ten pounds easily, almost as if you did it with little or no effort.

Keep the pre- and post-exercise meals with you in the gym bag, making certain you are always on the track.

When you're on a diet it's not good to cheat. When you cheat you're going over whatever your calorie count is. Don't get me wrong sure I've had a piece of cake, or a cookie here or there, but it's up to you to decide whether or not it's the right time to eat it. If your in the first two weeks of your diet don't eat any sweets or you're going to have a relapse. Losing weight is hard, so don't look at it as losing weight, look at it as having self-control.

Like many others, I thought counting calories couldn't make much of a difference. I was wrong. On a desperate urge to shed a few extra pounds, I kept a small notebook handy at all times, and scribbled down the calories of whatever I was eating. At the end of the day, I would add them up and make sure they didn't surpass my daily calorie intake. A little less, and I was pleased with myself. With this simple trick, (and a little WiiFit) I was able to shed 4 pounds in a week. I would also recommend jogging with your dog or a friend often. Jogging alone works just well, but a friend adds extra motivation to help you shed pounds and keep them off. And don't tell yourself that you're 'dieting', you are only making a small change to how you eat. Enjoy being slim! Good luck!
