I always liked beets from the first time I tried them but never bought them because of the price but from time to time I would buy a can and eat the beets during a work break, then one day when I was checking out a new grocery store I noticed that they carried loose beets and the price was reasonable, I bought 6 of them, I steam them and now I eat one most days and also helps me feel full enabling me to eat less without trying. Since they became a part of my diet I've lost 10 or 11 pounds and come spring I'm planning to grow them in my garden!

It helps me to write in a Food Journal and keep track of the calories as well as the grams of fat and fiber consumed each day. I also look at pictures of the days that I was young and healthy and slim...and that helps to motivate me! and keep me focused!

It's never easy but I'm still working on losing the weight! Good Luck to you!

I've found that if I eat 100 calories every two hours, I am satisfied and never hungry. Then I eat a small portion of meat and 2 veggies for my one main meal a day, even if it's 400 or 450 calories. I am 75 and do not exercize. But I maintain my weight.

You got great honest points here. I done a search on the issue and learnt most peoples will agree with your blog that research suggesting that taking in sweet, high-fat foods (ice cream, anyone?) right before bedtime appears to decrease calorie burning and increase fat storage during sleep, and we can reduce the weight loss through exercise come to know how to lose weight
