This is just ridiculous...really. I have worked with many depressed people in many settings and I have never seen this once. I can uplift someone down and I have never felt their lonliness creep into me... This is just nuts.

Great post! I would love to share with you a comment I recently

made in one of the posts on my related blog.

The negatives of loneliness in senior citizens are well known. Excessive loneliness can easily lead to a sense of isolation, desperation and depression. This can result in substance abuse or worse if the senior citizen doesn't find a way to fight back against that feeling of being alone.

1. Quit being materialistic.

2. Stop being arrogant.

3. Quit being an over-achiever.

4. Go to Church, spend time with friends and family.

In my experience, the best way to deal with loneliness is to befriend it. Develop a mindful approach to it. Ultimately, the source of loneliness is a lack of connection, particularly a lack of connection to oneself.

Practices like meditation and yoga are very useful in getting out of our heads (thinking) and into our experience (bodies, hearts, emotions, feelings). This is the path to freedom, peace and happiness.

I really do believe this. As an elderly man once told me "I will never sit in a rocking chair, because the moment I do...I will die". I think it is incredibly important for all of us to have connections and friendships :) I also believe in using natural products for anti-aging like good old fashion olive oil for my moisturizer and my Vidazorb natural probiotics (the OPC daily age defense) to help keep my body strong and healthy so I can live a very long time! I pray :)
