Most domestic violence victims are men, so why does this article ignore them? It's time to stop living in a fantasy world: women abuse, and often.

This blog is entitled "House Healthcare Bill Rewards Activism on Women's Issues." So why does it include two paragraphs about women's health issues and 5 about men's health issues? And why don't we learn about a whole range of women's health issues?

What women really need is more medical research based on female systems and considering hormones; I just hope that government insurance will not be so costly and limiting that it affects research and innovation in healthcare. We also benefit from interventional imaging that can treat varicose veins and uterine fibroids in minimally invasive ways per such specialists as we have in my hometown at http://www.imagingway.com.

Wow, you anti-choice zealots have a strong lobby.

It's amazing how you overlook the fact that what you are doing is asking the woman who does not want to be pregnant to use her body for something against her will. Sure, she made a choice. Maybe she used birth control and it failed. Maybe she make a mistake. Humans make mistakes. Why should she be punished for this by going thru 9 months and pain and discomfort. Why should the unborn fetus be brought into a world where it is not wanted?

You say that men & women have a choice to take responsibility for their sexual actions. Well, sure they do but when a mistake happens, it's the woman who bears the ultimate burden.

It makes me sick that you anti-choicers think that a clump of cells should have more rights than a fully-formed, breathing, live woman! Do you not see the irony in that? Guess asking for justice is too much to ask...

One way to ease the staffing shortage that may accompany the passage of the public option is to use physician assistants or nurse practioners. The military trains thousands of PAs, NPs and combat medics every year. Many leave after their first tour. This is a resource that should be available to help in the first line treatment at storefront and pharmacy clinics etc. to ease the burden on the hospitals and their emergency rooms.

(ComPassion should learn to present ideas with a minimum of moralizing. Why anyone would want to subject an unwanted baby to 18 years of abuse/neglect does not sound like "love" or "responsibility" --just hopelessness.)

I started out to second Theissman's suggestion; we lost a dear neighbor at 70 due to such an aneurism. He was still working heavy equipment by choice, had the physique of a 30-year-old with probably less than 5% body fat, and was healthy in every way--except he smoked.

Abortion should be covered by insurance, especially since drugs such as viagra are. It is every woman's choice as to the quality of life in her future and the quality of life she can provide for a child in her future.

Not every woman can take birth control pills and other methods of contraception have varying effectiveness.

Bringing another life into the world should only be an unplanned for event to the lower primates.

Human life is too sacred and should be nurtured and never accidental. It is out of respect for life and to bring quality to it that I am in favor of public payment for abortion.

Joan Dalton of AL 2:07PM November 02, 2009

1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest; 6% of abortions occur because of potential health problems regarding either the mother or child, and 93% of all abortions occur for social reasons (i.e. the child is unwanted or inconvenient).

Source: http://www.abortionno.org/Resources/fastfacts.html

We should encourage responsibility. 93% of the time the mother and father made a choice to take a risk that might turn out to be inconvenient or a social reason. They need to be responsible for the life they started. We are not animals and we can make decisions (choice).

It's all about stepping up to the resposibility of the choice that was made 93% of the time.

93% of the time this can not be justified as a medical reason:

- 3200 Uborn American Babies slaughtered a day because of bad choices

- 1.2 Million Uborn American Babies slaughtered a day because of bad choices

- More than 45 Million Unborn American Babies slaughtered in 36 years

We need to do more for the 7%. We need to work hard to protect the mother and the child during this 7%.

The unborn baby does not have a choice if abortion is the choice.

Make Responsible Choices.

When you make a decision to have sex then be responsible.

Be Responsible.

Respect Life

Protect Life.

Love the Mother and the Child.
