Why not go for sterilization; it's a simple outpatient procedure for both men and women paid by insurance...overpopulation and cost of living alone should be a motive. Laura

Have you considered clinics? It is possible to get oral contraceptives there for free. They are even the same brands with just different packaging.

The economy and the recent press about Yaz has many women concerned about birth control methods. With unintended pregnancies at epidemic levels it is critical that women understand the options that are out there. Thanks so much for getting the word out. I created a blog for women to share their experiences with the different forms of birth control and would appreciate to hear your experiences. I will send this article out and link to it.

The IUD is also a cost effective form of birth control and it's said to be the most effective. Though implanting the device may cost up to $200- at least in MA, where I live- many insurances cover it, and then you have no monthly cost for up to ten years. Some people don't believe in the IUD, or think it may cause problems with fertility, but I have had it for several years now and have found no problems with it. Best of all, no hormones- at least with the copper device.

WHEN WE DEAL WITH RESPECT FOR LIFE, CONTRACEPTION CAN MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR A NEW LIFE TO FIND A PLACE TO DEVELOP.RESPECT FOR LIFE ALLOWS LIFE TO DEVELOP. LOVE IS NOT DESTROYING LIFE BUT ALLOWING LIFE TO FIND A FAMILY, SOMEONE TO LOVE AND LIVE WITH. CONTRACEPTION IS OFTEN A FORM OF ABORTION SINCE IT DOES NOT ALLOW LIFE TO FIND A PLACE WITHIN THE MOTHER TO GROW AND TO DEVELOP.AT MacNeal Hospital IN BERWYN, ILLINOIS ONE DOCTOR SHOWED THAT A EMBRYO ALREADY KNOWS HOW TO EMIT A ANTI-REJECTION CHEMICAL SO THAT THE MOTHER'S BODY WILL NOT EXPEL IT AS IT WOULD WHEN A FOREIGN ELEMENT ENTERS HER BODY. THIS ALREADY PROVES THAT THE EMBRYO IS NOT PART OF THE MOTHER'S BODY. SO SHE HAS TO TREAT THE EMBRYO AS A INDIVIDUAL PERSON SEPARATE FROM HER AND THE MOTHER HAS NO RIGHT TO EXPEL IT THROUGH USE OF CONTRACEPTIVES OR ABORTION TECHNIQUES AND MEDICINES. LIFE IS SO PRECIOUS AND SO GREAT A GIFT FROM GOD THAT IT HAS TO BE RESPECTED IN ALL FORMS. AS PRESIDENT OBAMA SAID IN HIS UN SPEECH, WE ARE CHILDREN OF GOD.THIS INCLUDES EMBRYOS AND THE UNBORN.

Many natural methods are effective, and all women should have access to information about them (just as they should have information about all types of methods) so they can know what their options are and make the choice that they feel is best suited for them. For example, the Standard Days Method, used with CycleBeads (a one-time purchase of $15 or so), is as effective as condoms, for women that have regular cycles. There are other natural methods as well that are effective and have been scientifically tested, but unfortunately it takes a bit of digging around to get info about them. It is a misconception that NFP = the rhythm method.

These are very sensible suggestions. Thank you so much for not touting the wonders of the rhythm method (rebranded as NFP) or other ineffective forms of contraception.
