I agree with this article that the testing is probably not all the way complete before they give us these vaccines. I am 16 weeks pregnant and I am terrified of the swine flu. I am sure everyone is. I am torn between whether to get the shot or not. It seems like there are sick people all around, but I can't put something into my body that I am not sure about. There is too many unknowns for me to trust these vaccines.

October 2009

On October 1 2009, a former federal health minister dismisses as "crackpots and conspiracy theorists" those who would actively discourage Australians from having their swine flu vaccine'. October 2nd, the San Fransisco Chronicle publishes that 'Everybody seems to be saying TRUST THE GOVERNMENT but it's hard to trust the H1N1 vaccination campaign' and on October 4rd, the Washington Post wonders 'When the swine flu vaccine finally arrives this week, will Americans line up to get it?' and CBS News writes about health care workers protesting the flu vaccine mandate. October 6th Foodconsumer publishes 'Do NOT Let Your Child Get Flu Vaccine -- 9 Reasons Why' and writes that 'modern medicine has no explanation for autism, despite its continued rise in prevalence. Yet autism is not reported among Amish children who go unvaccinated'. October 7th Healthnews writes that 72 percent are concerned about potential vaccine side effects and the Examiner writes that' theorists believe that government may force people to take the vaccine'. October 8th Times&Transscript publishes that 'a mercury-based preservative called thimerosal would be included as one of the substances in the H1N1 vaccine', Medill Reports writes that Dr. Mayer Eisenstein is advising his patients to say no and is convinced that vaccines cause autism and the Los Angeles Times Blog publishes that media commentators Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh have apparently fallen prey to the loony websites of the anti-vaccine folks and that Beck would do "the exact opposite" of what the government recommended and attend a swine flu party.

September 2009

September 8th 2009, an article on EnjoyFrance reports that France, Greece the UK and the US have or are planning to make the Swine Flus vaccination mandatory and that those opposed are afraid of contracting the Guillain Barre Syndrome or even dying, an anxiety which is, according to this article, rooted in the '76 scare. On September 11th 2009, a Spanish security firm detects a 'swine flu' computer virus and this article quotes Margaret Chan, head of WHO, that she could not imagine major pharmaceutical firms to be behind the the Swine flu outbreak. On September 21th CanadafreePress publishes that the right-wing seems as enamored as the left, when it comes to using big PhRMA to make Big Money. Moammar Gadhafi Rants at U.N. General Assembly according to this article published September 23rd and suggests that the H1N1 flu virus was a military conspiracy. The 'Right to Say ‘No’ to Vaccine' is advocated by Khaleej Times on 24th September 2009.On September 26th, the Daily Contributor publishes that Dr Kent Holtorf, an Infectious Disease Expert wouldn’t even consider having his family take the vaccine'. On September 28th, PrisonPlanet asks the question 'Where Did the H1N1 Late-2009 Flu Season Virus Come From?'.

Thank you! This article has fairly represented both sides of the flu debate. On the one hand--flu vaccines help sometimes. On the other hand--what is unknown (and often covered up to make life 'easier' for health officials) poses a serious threat and risk that many of us aren't willing to take. As a pregnant woman, I am not willing to sacrifice my unborn child just so I can become a statistic to help with their vaccination research. This sentence from your article I found to be scary and sobering for us moms-to-be:

" John Iskander, the previous head of immunization safety at the CDC, told me last fall that the reason the agency doesn't recommend thimerosal-free vaccines is because "there's still not enough women receiving the flu vaccine, and we don't want to throw up another barrier in the vaccination process." "

Just what else, exactly, are health officials not telling us because they have an ulterior motive? I don't like the idea that someone like John Iskander has decided not to tell me about something that could be potentially harmful, just to make the agencies life easier. Am I the only one who is completely outraged by this?

OUR PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENTS, HOSPITALS, CLINICS AND PRIVATE PHYSICIANS WILL ADMINISTER THE aH1N1 VACCINATIONS WHICH MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT CONTAIN THE ADJUVANTS THIMERSOL AND SQUALENE.THE HEALTH PROFESSIONAL WHO ADMINISTERS THE VACCINATIONS MAY NOT BE AWARE OF THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF THESE ADJUVANTS DUE TO A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OR TRAINING OR JUST BY MAKING A MISTAKE. THE ADJUVANTS SQUALENE AND THIMERSOL HAVE BEEN FEDERALLY BANNED BUT CAN BE USED WITH IMPUNITY IN THE MANUFACTURE OF VACCINATIONS WHEN A FEDERALLY DECLARED PANDEMIC HAS BEEN CALLED. SQUALENE AND THIMERSOL HAVE BEEN PROVEN TO CAUSE LIFE LONG DEBILITATING HEALTH PROBLEMS....INCLUDING DEATH.THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT A VACCINATION WITHOUT THESE ADJUVANTS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN YOUR AREA OR AT THE HEALTH PROVIDER YOU CHOOSE, OR AT THE TIME YOU CHOOSE TO BE VACCINATED. AS OF JULY 31ST. THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION HAS REPORTED ONLY 162,230 CONFIRMED CASES OF AH1N1, AND ONLY 1154 DEATHS....THESE ARE WORLD WIDE STATISTICS. IF YOU EXTRAPOLATE THOSE NUMBERS BY A WORLD POPULATION OF 6.9 BILLION PEOPLE YOU WOULD GET .002351 % OF THE WORLDS POPULATION THAT HAS (HAD) THE AH1N1, AND .00001672 % OF THE WORLDS POPULATION THAT HAS DIED AS A RESULT OF THE AH1N1.SOME WOULD ARGUE THAT THIS FALL AND WINTER ARE GOING TO BE THE WORST...BUT ARGENTINA HAS JUST GONE THROUGH THEIR WINTER AND HAD A HIGH COUNT OF AH1N1 CASES WITH VERY FEW DEATHS AS COMPARED WITH LAST YEARS INFLUENZA'S STATISTICS.THE AH1N1 HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY MANY BIO LABS AROUND THE WORLD TO BE MAN MADE. THE VIRUS CONTAINS 1 PART AVIAN, 2 PARTS SWINE AND 2 PARTS HUMAN RNA...FROM SEPARATE PLACES IN THE WORLD.THE LONG TERM SIDE EFFECTS OF THE MENTIONED ADJUVANTS ARE GOING TO BE WORSE THAN THE AH1N1 VIRUS. WHAT A BETTER WAY TO GENERATE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS THAN TO RELEASE A BIOLOGICAL AGENT ON THE WORLD, MANUFACTURE ITS SUPPOSED CURE, AND THEN MANUFACTURE THE LONG TERM MEDICATIONS CAUSED BY THE CURE. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING VACCINATIONS FOR 11+ YEARS AND THE H5N1 AND THE AH1N1 FROM THEIR INCEPTION. I AM ALSO A PARENT OF A 14 YEAR OLD BOY WHO AT THE AGE OF THREE RECEIVED A VACCINATION WITH THIMERSOL. THAT EVENING HE WENT INTO AN EPILEPTIC SEIZURE AND WAS HOSPITALIZED. THE DOCTORS CONFIRMED HE HAD A HIGH ALLERGIC REACTION TO THIMERSOL. DAVID HAS ADHD AND ASPERGER'S SYNDROME AND WILL FOR LIFE. HIS LIFE AND OURS CHANGED THAT DAY BECAUSE WE WERE UN-AWARE OF THESE ADJUVANTS. I URGE ALL PEOPLE TO CONSIDER WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO THIS FALL WITH OUR FEDERALLY MANDATED VACCINATIONS.THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING MY INFORMATION.....PHIL LOCKERMAN esq

I am a mother to be and its very upsetting to know the cdc is recommending flu shots when they don't yet know the risks or effects on the unborn child. I was told by my local news that getting both vaccinces would be safe and would not harm the baby. If anything as they concluded it would help protect the baby once it was born. This to me was great because I've been doing everything to protect myself and my baby. Taking all precautions almost to the next extreme. This being because I am a first time mother and I want the most healthy, vibrant, strong baby I can birth. So since the Swine Flu outbreak I've been planning to get vaccinated. It only seemed appropreate. Now that I've read this article I'm not so sure. I really think the cdc should do more research and inform us of there findings. This is an unborn child inside of me, a growing fetus, a tiny human with a heartbeat, and your (the cdc) going to advise me to have something injected into me when you don't know if serious harm can be done? I think is a serious issue. I'm outraged.

I wonder if America is more worried about a panic outbreak. I'm not sure ignoring your countries advice is the right thing to do. I've been trying to get pregnant, and I think I will postpone it for a while just to see what happens. I don't think pregnant women should panic, but I don't think some precautionary measures taken this flu season would hurt anyone.

katie of CA 11:56AM July 31, 2009

There's no way I'm getting this shot. Anyone who agrees to it is plain stupid. This thing isn't even tested. Remember 1976?

And what's with starting with children and pregnant women but leaving the elderly out?

Sounds like population control to me.

I'm pregnant and absolutely terrified of swine flu,

I think EVERYONE should get enough shopping for 2 weeks, and just stay indoors, wouldn't this be the most effective way to stop the spread of it?,and possibly even get rid of it for good?

I've been asking myself that question for weeks now and I just don't understand why so called Health secretaries havnt thought of the idea?

I know most people wouldn't want to stay in for 2 weeks, but I personally would rather stay in for 2 weeks than die of swine flu!

Sure some people are going to have to go out,but couldn't people just stay in for 2 weeks and just go out if its an emergency like they must go to hospital or some thing?

What's everyone elses views and opinions about this?

The swine flu pandemic seems to be more prominent over here in the UK as the death toll appears to be higher.

Personally I'm terrified that my 8 month old son will catch it and I agreee that pregnant women, mothers and kids should be extra vigilant about using public transport and washing their hands after being in a public place.

I didn't know abou the mercury used in the flu shots - again, I think it's worrying as part of the advice I give to pregnant mums on my fitness coaching program is to avoid all shellfish and things like tuna, swordfish, shark because of the high levels of mercury contaminent in the fish.

Studies on mercury have shown that it can have a profound effect on the brain.
