I am shocked and disappointed that there is not provision for access to abortion for women in the military. It is not in women's interest nor in the interests of the military. Can you imagine having to leave Iraq or Afganistan to get an abortion and have to pay for the travel and the procedure out of your own pocket?
I am encouraged by Obama's rejection of abstinence only education. However the funding is so inadequate.
Likewise, Federal money for birth control is so unrealistic under Title X. This is for uninsured women. For every dollar spent by government on birth control four dollars in future medical expenses are saved. In addition, the heartbreak and disruption of your life is prevented when you can control your fertilty.
This administration is trying to meet women's health needs better, but it can not do it without more courage and more money for these services.

This information is down right disrespectfull to all women. Makes me wonder how O'Bama's own mother would feel about this big rip off. Women in college have enough to be concerned about if they ever want a career after their college graduation. Or maybe, some of them don't intend to finish their advanced education; perhaps they'd rather settle down and have a family...in that case they'd be better off getting married and forget about pursuing a career. WHAT the hell gives here anyway!!! O yeah, I forgot, O'Bama's mother was a single mom so maybe he thinks all women should skip abstinence and just...well, you know, get pregnant and become a single parent. What the ----! Seems to be the trend anyway. And what's the trend you ask? Sexual promisquity without responsibility. So, sure go ahead, get an abortion or take a pill and mess up your GOD-Given life!!! Guess you don't give a rat's butt anyway!!!

I am fully insured and worked for over forty years to reach this point. I live on a beautiful 10-acre piece of land, am widowed with a PERS (Public Employee Retirement System) pension--mine from over 25 years working as a high school teacher and as a circulation person for two libraries. I am attending my 50th reunion from college in June. When I was graduated, I owed zero and spent the next seven summers getting my MEd degree.
Education is key, and my parents (high school graduates only), who married in 1928, said, "Get your education. It is the one thing that can never be taken away from you." Oh yes, I reared two children and assisted my first husband through dental school. I was widowed in 2007 after 34+ years married to my second hubby who, too, had worked his way through college, spent thirteen months in Korea, was wounded, etc. He took me on with two youngsters--a leap of faith, but in the USA one can still succeed.
That said, IT AIN'T EASY, JOSE'!

I'm a big Obama fan too and am pro-choice. But I'd like to think I am out in the open about my views, meaning there is no reason to not call it like it is. Pro-choice is deciding that now is not the time to have a baby. It could be because of rape, incest, I'm too young, I'm working on my career, etc. And the way not to have the baby is to kill it via an abortion. And women should have that right as it is their body. If you are pro-choice and are in favor of funding abortion then you are indeed permitting the killing of unborn females (and males) for that matter. But that again is what I want and I think most of the country wants as well.

Abortion should be abolished in the United States with the exception of incess, or rape induced pregnancy. With access to birth control pills, and morning after pills there is no reason for any woman to have an unwanted pregnancy. Women who are planning an abortion should think about it a while, that baby is known by God from the time of inception.You may be aborting a child with musical talents, outstanding mental abilities, and yes, even someone meant to be our next President.

I'm a big Obama fan. And I love his erudite and secular approach to all topics.
Everybody will never be happy. Yes, that includes those who have commented so far. Because he didn't increase title X funding and increase access to pills for military women, he get's a c+?
I'm a big proponent of pro-choice policies but Obama has so many issues on his plate right now and, frankly, I and most other probably believe increasing title x funding is not the best thing to do at this point in time.
And to the crazy lady saying Obama is permitting the killing of unborn females in the womb, give me a break. You can't blame everything that is bad in the world on the president. They abort girls in India too, by the way, and I'm sure in many areas all over the world. What would you have him do? Preach abstinence to them? Send them bibles? Try to convince them somehow that your values and your God is better than theirs?

If Obama truly cared about females, he would not permit the killing of unborn females in the womb.
Many unborn females experience excrutiating pain during the 3rd trimester abortion procedure.
Sex-selection abortions are extremely common in China, where the one child per couple policy exists.
Obama is turning a blind eye to the plight of unborn Chinese females who are purposely selected to be killed due to their gender & for no other reason.
Pro-lifers care more about women than any pro-abortion supporters like Obama. Hands-down.
