Why Suzanne Somers Loves Bioidentical Hormones

The Dr keeps quoting women's health initiative but those were synthetic hormones, not bioidentical. I won't take synthetic drugs nor will I give up my bioidentical hormones. This Dr has obviously never had a hot flash disrupt his life. Mine were horrible and gone three days after I had pellets implanted with bioidentical estrogen and testosterone and taking progesterone.

Somers is an amazing and courageous caring individual who truly understands

that bioidentical hormones are not benefiting pharmaceutical companies business of synthetics.

I thank her so much for spreading the knowledge. I feel like I have myself again with bioidentical hormones. Thank you Suzzanne.

Where can I find a truly safe bio- identical progesterone Suzanne? Seriously, I read your books and became convinced Dr. Lee's products were safe trusting in your research, only to realize the Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate contained in Dr. Lee's ProgesterAll is toxic and is NOT a natural preservative at all in fact sodium hydroxymethylglycinate can breakdown into formaldehyde and glycine. It's my fault for going by what I read and waiting years to research each ingredient contained in the ProgesterAll. However

I am sadden by this because i trusted what I read. I believe you care about women and try to help others but this is a fact that cannot be denied. I am upset i have been using Dr. Lee's ProgesterAll since 2008 and am worried about what kind of damage i have caused myself.

I am a 70 years old woman who had a LAVH BSO three years ago woman. I have tried all kinds of bioidentical hormone therapies. I have trouble with insomnia and can't seem to get a balance of hormones to help me sleep better. For about three years tried Sotto Pelle pellets. It helped in several ways, but not for insomnia. The testosterone was so high that it made me anxious. Kept asking for less, but they insisted in giving me too much. Stopped using it almost six months ago. Started having hot flashes and other problems. Currnetly using bioidentical estradiol and pogesterone cream from Ava Maria Pharmacy in Prescott Valley, AZ. It help somewhat but not enough. I am sure that I am still comiing off of the pellets. Maybe they are still affecting me.

Why is it so hard to find something that really helps you. Don't know what to do.

Does anyone have a suggestion.

I'm not sure why we have to have Fugh-Berman touting the party line here. His supposed expertise apparently doesn't seem to require his discussing the shortfalls of studies on estradiol that supplemented estadiol but ignored the precursors DHEA, pregnenolone, as well as melatonin, thyroid, and dietary changes to lower risks in the given age group.

If Fugh-Berman had suggested that most providers who give any hormone willy-nilly is subjecting the patient to unwarranted risk, I would agree. Unfortunately he might be over his head discussing benefits vs risk with a providers who have specialized in the field, rather than just blindside, after the fact, a layperson who enthusiastically supports bio-identical hormone usage.

If there was no stranglehold on treatment by the insurance companies and/or a profit available from them by Big Pharma, we might assess a significant cost benefit and overall lowering of healthcare costs by making hormone therapy one of the cornerstones of healthy aging. This could have horrific consequences. Imagine a healthy retired population with time, energy and clear minds showing up to speak to their representatives about the poor job they have been doing.

Nice article, I have been wanting to take hormone replacement therapy because I suffer from post menopausal discomfort but I was afraid that it might increase my risk for breast cancer because our family history with this disease. But Medquest supplements really helped for many years now.

First of all, a special note to Dr. Adriane Fugh-Berman: The Womans Health Initiative study that you mentioned several times is NOT A BIO-IDENTICAL HORMONE STUDY ! big difference. PREMPRO is not a natural hormone with anywhere close to the normal hormone levels. Also we know that hormones ORALLY consumed increase a womans, or a mans risk of cancer. Hormones consumed in this manner are fractioned into un-natural and unhealthy elements by the liver. All women should have a complete hormone analaysis done before begining a re-placement program. DIET is also just as important as anything else. It is my feeling that because we live in an environment with so many hormonally disruptive toxins, we as women need hormonal support as protection. A healthy balanced hormonal system is a healthy immune system. I am wondering how old the doctor is? I would bet that when she becomes menopausal and begins to suffer from, hot flashes that drench her when she's speaking in public, lack of sleep, vaginal dryness that makes normal sex feel like rape, foggy brain, aches, pains, weight gain, and finally depression cause all of this sucks! your tune will change and you will be running to the nearest compounding pharamacy! good luck with that
