When you first join the social network it indeed great. After awhile though, you get tired of knowing thier every move and it is quite tiresome. Wait and see. I think humor is the answer to whether you have a great life or not, short or long.

Great article, thanks.

To some of the commenters:

Remember the countless human beings that need your care and friendship.

It's easy to get all focused over a dog with a wagging tail, or other 'shiny' thing.

If you want to help animals, stop buying pets from breeders, and spay/neuter any dogs or other pets you have. And you can always eat vegetarian--easy and delicious way to be humane.

If you want to be loving and generous and live up to your humanity, you won't have enough hours in the day to fuss over a dog. Pay attention to other humans and be a good friend/family member/neighbor.

If happiness is a disease, I'm praying for a pandemic.

Just an idea, but if anyone has the funds available, there was this adorable cocker spaniel dog that was brought to my workplace location last weekend, but one eye was completely missing. He was brought by PAWS Chicago for a doggie adoption day, and although they obviously have limited funding, if adopted, the adopting family (or individual) could easily pay to get the cute little dog a prosthetic glass eye.

Some people who saw the dog started crying, because they wanted to adopt another homeless pup, but already had two to take care of as it was.

It's a tough economy. Can anyone make a little pup happy by kicking in a donation to get the little fella a prosthetic eye?

If so, contact PAWS Chicago (I'm not affiliated with them, but it just bugs me that no one adopted that little pup, and it is probably because he wasn't as cosmetically cute as a dog with two healthy eyes).

Imagine how happy some affluent family might be if they helped to either adopt an adorable cocker spaniel or to help with the cost of a glass eye to make him more easily adoptable.

Bet that would make someone feel all warm and fuzzy, eh?

Again, it's PAWS Chicago, and it's a white cocker spaniel that was brought to a PAWS Chicago Adoption Day at a Chicago area department store.

A very good and worthy cause for anyone wanting to make a difference (hint hint).

This is okay but what about the REST of the world. Where do broken people go or do? When no family, friends, neighbors, spouse are in your life. OMG if you have these why would you be depressed in the first place. Even when you put the best attitude/smile on NOBODY cares. Gossip spreads and nothing changes or worse. So the little seconds of happiness are scarred by hours of crying! Great now I have been divorced for 9yrs kids almost grown and never seen me positive or happy for any length of time. Down stays down.Or you get knocked back down.

Get a glimpse of something incredibly cute, like a little wild rabbit poking a twitchy little nose around the yard as he looks for the perfect patch of clover to nibble.

Instant smile.

You can also go get a pet bunny here: http://www.rabbit.org

Click on "Pictures" and then "Show me a bunny!" at The House Rabbit Society website, and you are guaranteed a big smile. They are so cute!
