How much milk should be given to a child of 4 to 5 years

Iron deficiency can cause long term and irreversible cognitive/intellectual and behvioral problems.

Breast fed babies will have enough iron stored (from 3rd trimester) until about 4 months of age. Iron in Breast milk is less bioavailable therefore they tend to have higher incidence of iron deficiency and therefore American Academy of Pediatrics has recommended iron supplementation from 4 months of age if they are partially or fully breastfed until they take enought iron containing solid food.

Taking iron does not affect absorption of other nutrients.

Do a blood test before supplementing your breastfedbaby. Mother's milk contains easily absorbed and best iron for baby. Iron supplements can interfere with absorption of nutrients from breast milk.

Beware of individuals using defunct information & falsely trying to state that meat is a good source of iron, often using the false phrase that "heme" iron is more better and often containing the phrase "40% of the iron in meat is heme iron". These have all been debunked. However multiple often un-informed individuals continue to falsely spread it, causing damage to American lives and children.

THE ACTUAL CURRENT INFORMATION:

"Harvard University School of Public Health brought new insight to the debate. Lasting for 4 years, this research involved more than 50,000 male health professionals. It was found that total iron intake was not associated with heart disease risk. But the source of the iron came was the principle factor. High levels of heme iron raised risk for heart disease twofold".

This means that if you eat heme iron containing meat, you DOUBLE the risk of becoming infected with cardiac disease. This is not the case for plant-based iron, which has now been found to not only be better for humans, but non-heme plant iron is more robust, it gets absorbed more readily especially in the presence of Vitamin C than meat heme-iron, and is healthier.

Type "HEME IRON MEAT ECOLOGOS" into GOOGLE to obtain information on this, and observe the article entitled "Myth: meat is a "good" source of iron." The 'meat is a good soure of iron' statement has now been ruled false.

Also, as observed in actual laboratory measurements and nutritional charts, even wheat bran bread contains 15.0 milligrams of iron! Keep in mind that meat contains only 2 milligrams. Your side of whole Rice contains a whopping 10 times the amount of iron than the piece of meat. Any person stating that meat contains tons of iron is simply incompetent on the subject. More than 50 plant sources have huge amounts more iron than meat. The meat iron ruse is believed and akin to how someone might believe that the earth is flat and the sun is small and moves around the earth not the other way around because to someone uninformed it "seems" like the sun rises and sets and looks about as little as a coin in the sky, however in reality and scientifically we know that its the sun that is MORE massively huge and the earth is the one moving around it.

Heme Iron From Red Meat may Increase Blood Pressure

Posted on04 August 2008.

Blood pressure may be affected by dietary iron intake, according to a recent study conducted by Ioanna Tzoulaki at the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, Imperial College London, and colleagues, published in the latest issue of British Medical Journal.

RESULTS: "nonheme iron has been found to reduce blood pressure, whereas heme iron from red meat, one of its main sources, has been found to have an adverse effect on blood.."

SOURCE: MED NEWS DIRECT - Peer Reviewed Biomedical Journal

Put: Tzoulaki I, Brown IJ, Chan Q, et al. "Relation of iron and red meat intake to blood pressure" into Google for this conclusive study.

Nancy Shute attempts to damage and hurt children.

HEME IRON is scientifically known to cause human damage.

"Red meat is a source of 'heme iron' which has been shown to enhance hormone tumor function." - Dr. Tim Harlan, MD.

One must understand, that ALL of the supposed iron that is in meat came from plants anyway. Cows do not eat meat, therefore the iron in steak and meat did not come from meat in the first place. All of the iron in meat came from iron-rich plants, the best source of iron. From there, the iron is converted into dangerous "HEME IRON" in meat which is known to cause child cancer and feeds adult cancerous tumours. Plant iron is cleaner, more readily and more quickly absorbed, especially in the presence of Vitamin C. Plants contain MORE iron than meat. That's right. If you ever see ANY person claim that meat is a richer source of iron than plants, that person just lied.

This will give you an idea: The absolute *highest* amount of iron contained in an animal is in their liver. Liver contains 9milligrams of iron. In contrast, plant sources contain whopping amounts MORE iron! Potato contains MORE iron than that! Even blackstrap molasses 52.8 milligrams of iron. In addition, the function of the liver is of a BILE organ, the function of the liver is like your dish-drain, it screens out and retains toxins and poisons from the blood. This means that if you eat liver, you are ingesting bile organ filled with the very waste and toxic material that the human body was trying to filter out and get rid of! This meat source is one of the most infected and worst sources of anything to eat, liver is classified as "offal" meat and is sometimes even considered unfit for even pet-food. Red meat and steak is even lower in iron content, and the type that steak has in the first place is "heme iron" which feeds cancer tumours.

In addition, analysis now shows:

MEAT TODAY NOW SHOWN NUTRITIONALLY DEFICIENT!

QUOTE: "The levels of iron recorded in the average rump steak have dropped by 55%, while magnesium fell by 7%. Looking at 15 different meat items, the analysis found that the iron content had fallen on average by 47%."

CONFIRMED SCIENCE: "[Other types of Animal protein] showed a fall in magnesium and calcium levels... 9% less calcium, 38% less magnesium and 47% less iron,.. with magnesium levels down by 70% and iron all gone..."

That's right Meat is scientifically found to be deficient in not only iron, but nutritionally deficient in minerals and nutrients. This is now confirmed.

Nancy Shute just advocated parents to shove red meat down ours and our child's throats. And has advocated the most toxic form of iron which can lead to iron-poisoning, and generate cancerous tumours in your child.

This author is regarded by the medical community as not only under-educated on the subject, but also irresponsible and dispensing false information which threatens to damage your child.
