This is a great point and I am fighting to get recess back for the children at our schools. It is really frustrating to me that our students don't even get recess so if anyone would like to help me fight I would appreciate it!! I have a petition started on change.org here is the link. Dr. Olga J. and her partners went to a school district with a rule against recess. They had gotten permission for two fourth-grade classes to have recess once a week so they could find the difference on the children’s behavior on recess and non-recess days. The result was that the 43 children became more on-task and less talkitive on days when they had recess.
