Dr. Olga J. and her partners went to a school district with a rule against recess. They had gotten permission for two fourth-grade classes to have recess once a week so they could find the difference on the children’s behavior on recess and non-recess days. The result was that the 43 children became more on-task and less talkitive on days when they had recess.
