Vaccine Study Retracted, and Causes of Autism Remain Elusive

Before certain people decide to put their logic in about vaccines and autism get your facts straight! Autism can be hereditary also triggered by environmental factors. Also speak to some parents who can tell you they have seen their child digress after receiving vaccinations. There is more than one type of autism! Do the research! Asperger's can appear around the age of 3. Look the statistics of how many children who have autism or autism spectrum disorder!Asperger's is now classified as autism as of February in the medical journals. Why are these children not worth for the funding to do the research for autism and a link to vaccines? I think many people are not understanding the fact that parents just want something to actually be done with research instead of continuing to sweep the problem under the rug. These children are our future and the problem continues to grow. The research that has been done is a joke! If every doctor office reported reactions to the vaccines and parents concerns, there would be an alarming number at hand! Here is your logic, I have a 4 year old son who has Asperger's. I have seen his adverse reactions with each vaccine. I have complained to his pediatrician about his reactions and was told it was "normal". Well normal turned into Asperger's with Sensory Processing Disorder. I had to do the research and present my son's pediatrician with my findings. I had always voiced concerns with eating issues and said he had his differences. What I did not know was with each vaccination I was watching my child disappear. Then he received his next round of vaccinations and I realized what was going on. My child was not my child anymore. Fear struck my heart and I said enough is enough. Researched for hours what was going on with my son. Like any parent going through the same thing, I have done my research. I have the data and watched the data right before my eyes of the reaction to the vaccines. Let me put it to you this way........Not every child is allergic to a bee sting but to some it can be deadly! So why can't a child have a reaction to a vaccination while others do not?! Why is there such denial over this? Or maybe it is because the companies who supply the vaccinations or worried about getting the pants sued off of them. It is a money market to them but to me it is my child's life and welfare I am concerned about. It is about future children lives I am concerned about. To say the benefits may be worth the risk to some children is a callous comment. It was not worth the risk to my child who deserves so much more then what has happened to him! Children with autism come from all races and backgrounds! The cost of supplements is outrages but I will continue to keep my son on them because they do work! But once again that is over looked as well and it comes out of pocket for parents. These children are human beings people! Wake up and realize we have an epidemic on our hands!

I find that it is great to have all of this research however I find that answers are not always there. All of these programs cost so much and unless you are able to pay for these programs they are not available to the majority without either being on a waiting list that is just totally outragious or you have the money to get these programs privately. If you have insurrance you have to go through so much paper work and even then it is not a for sure thing they will even cover it. I know I had to wait quite some time for them to even look at the case and then when they did it took over a year. that is just too long of a period of time when your working with a child who is in the autistic spectrum. Time really is not your friend, when your trying to get your child the help that he or she needs. All of the proffessionals who work closely to this disorder say the sooner you can get your child dignosis the more of a chance we can help your child get the programs that he or she needs. I find that there are companies who promise vounarable parents cures shame on them just for a darn buck. I know I was a very desprate parent to find my child the help he needed. It truly came down to myself not accepting the answer I'm sorry we can't help you. I kept until I could get the help and to have them teach me. I had the time and passion to do what it takes. I will never say it was easy. honestly it was difficult and painful however my goal was one babystep at a time. I truly feel for parents who want so badly to help there child however don't have the means is just a sin. these programs need to truly be available for all. I'm not saying a hand out but there has to be away that it can be available for all not just a few. Thank you for hearing me out.

That's exactly what the GMC Hearing against Drs. Andrew Wakefield, Simon Murch and John Walker-Smith wasted, "time and money." The trial stretches on for three years and costs over 1 million British Pounds, making it the longest and most expensive hearing in GMC history, on top of being a total kangaroo trial against doctors and scientists who did what no one else would do: investigate the causes and conditions associated with autism.

The retraction is no different. The Lancet's editor, Richard Horton, committed perjury by denying his knowledge of Wakefield's involvement with lawyers prior to the paper's publication. This retraction is a positive disassociation from the journal for Wakefield and colleagues, who will no longer be associated with a publication that is run by such a dishonest editor-in-chief.

Perhaps no one factor is to blame for autism. My son is affected with ASD and he had an MMR just before his onset at 18 months. But think of the generations past in his genetic makeup. I know that my upbringing consisted of lots of processed foods and preservatives that my parents never had when they were growing up. DDT was a pesticide used by farmers back then. Could the fact that my husband and I had so much of these in our system growing up be a contributing factor to our son's autism? Now organic foods are all the rage. Will that help future generations avoid this illness? I also was put through many vaccines as a child, and so was my husband. Their effects on our offspring may not be known for generations. I recall hearing of a vaccine that was given to pregnant women caused their daughters to be sterile. Perhaps the vaccines, the preservative filled foods, the other factors in the recent generations have contributed to this rise in autism today. Just food for thought. God Bless all of you with autistic children. I live with my son's condition daily, and ABA therapy has been a blessing to us - he learns more each week!
