I would think that a parent shooting a child in the chest with a bb gun only shows how little the parent respects not only guns, but their own child, if anything he will probably think they are not dangerous because all that happened to him was he had a well, it's like thinking thou are "teaching" a child not to hit by hitting, no....you are only thing then that those who are bigger and stronger have the right to hit, as if they hit, or shoot, because the think it tickles.....

I was in pre-school when I got my 1st BB gun and by 10 I was shooting my limit of dove with a .410 single shot shotgun.
I'm very thankful I had a Dad that I respected and treated firearms safely and shared his knowledge with me.
I can not say that I owned a gun safe before I owned a gun but I do have one and know that the first thing any gun owner should purchase is a safe, if its for a pistol, they make night stand boxes with quick access and so on... If you gun is not in you hands or in a holster you're wearing it needs to be kept safe.
